I noticed that there are some minor characters that are given focus for about 3 seconds in every episode and was wondering if they are part of a different group or are idols as well. Since I haven't played Idolm@ster I wouldn't know :p

All of the other characters that had cameo appearances are the rest of the SideM idols besides the six units that the anime is focusing on. :) I really hope for a second(or more?!) season so that they can have their time to shine too because the entire cast is just great when they’re all together. ^^

In the more recent episodes there have been some hints that President Saito and Producer-kun are still scouting for more idols so maybe we might see them again..

Of course they will! We will see these idols again in 2018 once KaitoP and President Saito scouted them to join 315Pro especially I really want to see Saki-kun from Cafe Parade and Ryo-kun from Dearly Stars and now F-LAGS in the second season!

Yea they're idols from the same series too, but it seems like they still have their "jobs", the SideM Anime wanted to focus on the first six ST@RTING Line groups Jupiter, DRAMATIC STARS, Beit, High×Joker, W, and S.E.M. All the idols that made a 3 second cameo are a part of the later ST@RTING Line groups, if there's a second season or something relating to SideM I'm pretty sure we'll be able to see 315 pro with all of it's gr8 idols (especially Saki~)
