at the beginning , it said that the new gate was online game that turned to death game , and then release thousandth of people

so , was it just a setting or is there a prequel to this manga before he beat final boss ?

Right now it's just the setting and all that's really shown of the whole death game is the beginning of the manga. Important details regarding that time that need to be known are told throughout the story but for now, that's all there is.
Hopefully though there'll be a small prequel at some point, because in my opinion it would really solidify specific characters and relations that appear later in the story.

Nope, even the web novel/light novel don't have one...Only bits of information and flashbacks before the game turned into a death game such as their past quest with his girlfriend and a few of his old guild mates, etc. etc.

There's no official English release. The Japanese volumes 1-4, covering chapters 1-27, can be imported from Amazon.co.jp if you're fluent. You can also read the most recent... four, i think, chapters on the Alphapolis website.

Failing that, there is a fan translation available that usually gets updated within a few days of the chapter releasing.

And OP,

The fan translation is on the ninth novel, but the manga is currently only adapted up to the end of the third novel so you'll be waiting quite a while for that.
