Honestly all I can say is good luck.. most of the MMO hype died down a long time ago sadly when MOBAS got extremely popular and free to play. (LOL and Heroes for the storm for example) I've looked myself and honestly the only ones I found reviews on that were decent was Final Fantasy 14, Phantasy Star Online 2 and WoW.

-3- sadly for the American market MMOs just aren't as popular as they use to be.

If you mean a MMO that's "like another life" only Mabinogi ever pulled that off. If you want a popular MMO that has more that just battles, FFXIV has a solid gathering/crafting system. Other than that you can just google search for any generic anime themed MMO for something that might suit your tastes.

I was gonna recommend Final Fantasy XIV, but it seems everybody else already did it.

It's a great game with a great community, but it's subscription based.

Try World Of Warcraft Old Private Servers, Check Warmane Dot Com out.
You can either play the First WoW Expansion (The Burning Crusade) Which is really good or the 2nd WoW Expansion (Wrath Of The Lich King) which is way better , Its Free and each server has at least 6k players to 10k players online everyday which is alot of players, back then in retail each server had a cap of 4k each.

You will get into a whole new life if you manage to hit the lvl cap, enter a good Guild, make friends etc.

The instrucions on how to install are in the website.

If you want a more Basic game you can try Adventurequestworlds which is a 2d game Or AQ3D.

A friend said this game the characters play looks like Mabinogi, but I never played this game. I always remmember Ragnarok Online because I played this title for more than 5 years, then most of these situations I already have experienced.

I strongly recommend you to search for an online game and try to play it with a "light-roleplay". I mean, think a personality for your character and follow it. I said "light" because you don't need to live like another person, just make a character of another gender or try to emulate an anime character you like, something like this.

Or just play an offline game with a lot of interactions with NPCs. I recommend Atelier Series (for PC, PS4, PSVita, PS3 or PS2) and another Gust games (Ar tonelico series for sci-fi, Blue Reflection for school life, and Nights of Azure for yuri).

Final Fantasy 14 is the most solid. The UI in the mmo in this anime is almost identical too. I think they were kind of going for that.

I haven't played that many MMO's but I'm pretty sure that yes there is an MMO like this in this show, I just don't recall what it is.

I might need to ask my cousin and show him the series and ask just for memorizing again.

I've been playing Ragnarok Online (both official and private servers) for nearly 15years now, and most of my friends ingame are my good friends in real life. So yeah, im glad this game existed.

there are a lot of anime styled mmos actually! My favorite is probably Eden Eternal I really loved that game it had so much fun things in it and there was also a gacha system that didn't need you to spend real money! You could even ride alpacas there but idk if it still exists

As mentioned above, the anime is very similar to Mabinogi. Well, I played mabinogi a lot in the past and 2 minutes into the first episode I was thinking this, then ten minutes into the first episode, I was sure this game represented mabinogi. I messaged a friend I have kept in touch with from mabinogi, about this anime. He then told me that mabinogi is running a collaboration event with this anime, and not only that but in epiode 4 when she's buying the game card, the stand that has the out of order sign on it has a mabinogi ad. So, It's mabinogi.

It's probably most like Mabinogi. Mabinogi has a clothes dye system in the game, something I have yet to see in most other games. Anime had some mention about dyeing of clothes colours.

Mabinogi has a collaboration with this anime too, so I guess it must have inspired it.

Yeah, Mabinogi, there was a collaboration event with MMO Junkie so you can actually have Hayashi and Lily's outfits in game, along with those homing bracelets. But the event for the bracelets is over now I think.
