| Azumanga Daioh is 26 episodes of slice of life + comedy (highschool girls and teachers) - no idea if this is acceptably short, but it definitely is great. Kazemakase Tsukikage Ran - 13 episodes, episodic, nicely choreographed and animated fights, with comedy. 2 women fighters wander Edo Japan: Ran (sword), who is fine with being left alone and drinking sake, but villains can't keep from doing their evil deeds right in her face, and she won't have that. And Lady Miao (weaponless), who is more social, naive, and strongly believes in right and wrong. ps - Don't know if maybe you do not list specials/ OVA sequels, but Yuyushiki has an OVA which is perfectly "yet another episode", with no difference to the main show. |
