Along one of the many alcoves that form the coasts for the Subterranean sea is a large struture that forms a temple. The purpose of it and whom it is built to is unknown, as is the people whom built it. But the carefully planned structure indicates a mathematically sophisticated civilization or at least group of people. Different signs indicate that whomever built it used some form of ritualistic worship, but how and what they did is unclear.

After returning to the ship, everything went smoothly from that point on. He even thought that after returning, the ghosts looked better for some reason, he didn't question it too much... He was on a ghost ship after all.
Suddenly, without even knowing what the hell happened, he was now at the entrance of a building, on a beach, with no signs of the ship anywhere. After looking around for a while, he gave up looking for the ship "Well... They were ghosts after all". Since there was no sign of any specific way to go, he decided to enter the structure and see what he could find there.

Inside the room, were circular depresions into the ground, thre of them getting slightly smaller as they go down, about an inch enach one. The smallest one wa filled with water, and the other two marked with runes of some sort. There were various tools that seemed useful for inscribing, and various stones that seems like they didnt come from here. Some of them were already inscribed, and some werent. There was a book nearby written in a strange language. Seems whoever was doing something down here didnt manage to finish it. If he wexplored further he would fin bedrooms with personal items t whoever was here before. But it would seem its been abandoned for a long time. More than a single lifetime.

After entering the structure, he didn't even bother to check by speech if there was somebody else in there... Normal human beings at least. Those obviously had not been in the place for a very long time. Everything was covered in a thick layer of dust and all of the other rooms were in the same state. Edward decided to investigate what was going on here, so he picked everything that looked useful or interesting before returning to the main room.

The ritual they were attempting appeared very incomplete. If you could translate the texts, you could probably figure out how to finish it. The Dagger of course was of note. The personal efects in the bedding area was mostly scrolls, spare clothing, and spears for some reason. There seemed to be an armory with a derelict set of armor and a rather fancy looking sword. Inspection reveals a skeleton with blunt trauma to the head inside the armor. Though analysis shows that the armor isnt damaged where the injury is. Making it an odd injury. Especially to die from.

After exploring the whole place, he walked back to the main room with several, now dust free, objects floating behind him while also picking up a few from the main room and cleaning those as well: some tools that probably were use to make inscribings, several stones with and without inscriptions of an unkown language, a book and scrolls filled with more of the unknown language, a few pieces of clothing, a dagger, some spears, a set of armor and a sword.
With all the objects he brought now laying on the ground around him, he sat down near the circular depressions and started investigating the objects. First the clothes and the weapons, he picked them up and checked on them for anything of interest while also analysing the material and the way they looked or more inscriptions on them. Maybe that could give him a clue of where these people came from, and therefore, their language. Specially to the dagger and the sword, since they looked quite interesting. The armor was next, he carefully separated the parts of it to avoid damaging them since it looked very damaged "Perhaps when I get out of here I can repair it..." He thought as he checked the parts of it for more information. After checking the parts, he analysed the skeleton that was inside, looking for anything out of the norm aside from the cracked skull, which by the the way he found weird considering it was inside a set of armor, yet the armor didn't show any signs of damage there. He shrugged it off for now and just set the skeleton on the ground, a few meters away from him... Just in case it decided to "wake up".
Finally, he grabbed the book, scrolls and the stones to see if he and his Lucian mind could be able to decipher this language. Analysing the symbols, looking for patterns, trying to find the context in the sentences, and a large et cetera. Wanting to learn what was the meaning of the things he was reading and see where that would take him.

The robes looked immensely comfortable if you were to clean them thoroughly. The ancient inscribed robes looked elegant. And were made of silk. Yet, they were made so that you could wear any sort of non-bulky medium weight armor underneath without loosing its appearance. It doesnt seem to have magical power, but it seems designed to hold it. Enchantable? The weapons were lf opposite appearal. one had decorative wings and looked like somethig a valkyrie would wield, and one that had a spidery appearance. Both seemed to have magical capacity, and the spidery dagger had actual magic bound to it. The runes on them seemed to be magic enhancing.

The skeleton seemed almost perfectly preserved, and showed a very slow rate of decay. Which was also unusual. Even the wound caused minimal damage to the integrety of the skull as a whole. Of course its a fatal wound, but the rest of the skull was fine. The armor itself was very old, and was derelict because of that. If you tried to repair it, you would potentially lose some of the design on it, which may or may not be important. You could tell it used to be quite the work of armor.

Assuming Edward has no prior experiences decrypting an ancient language, it would tak him an hour with his Lucian mind to figure out the langauge at its fundamentals. The unes were not a part of the language, they were their own thing. The book contained rituals nd magics that are of various uses. Eventually finding the a few diagrams that match the circle. Runes already arved indicate that this was a Resurrection pit for deceased gods. filling it with special layers of liquids in the right order and performing somehing could revive a minor deity from death.

You would study the scrolls, which had diagrams and charts and complicated research and arcane data. These seem to hold their own rituals, and important fundamentals of the magic they performed here. ten one of the scrolls made mention of the dagger. It was appaently called toperia, and was needed in the ritual to raise up Arachne, an old god of weaving. Why were they trying to revve dead gods? why are these gods dead? could you raise them up? the ritual to raise arachne seemed to require a drop of blood drawn by the edge of toperia in the bottom layer, and then fill it with water up to the second layer after the blood settles, cover the mix in a layer of thin sand, and run electricity through the liquids. that should if they know what the were doing, ctivate the spell.

a journa left behind seemed to infer about how a "great shadow" looms over the world. and how it kiled their gods first. his writing seemed, desperate. seems from his notes, they managed to revive 24 other gods so far. arachne was to be the next, but the writing abruptly stops after a few lines about "Its too late".

you could finih the spell since you are here,

Surprisingly enough for Edward, the robes were in a way better state than the armor. Which was weird considering their materials, but it was just probably due to a usage difference. The same could be said about the weapons, since they looked as good as new, and he took a particular liking to the sword. And as a pleasant surprise, the neat skeleton inside the armor didn't raise up to attack him.
Then, after several of hours of reading, he managed to understand the language and the runes in all of the things he picked up. With this knowledge, the runes, the use of this temple before it was abandoned, lots of magical knowledge, and knowing that most of the things he found are enchantable or enchanted already were revealed to him. Tired of reading, yet satisfied with the results, he took a few minutes to rest his eyes.
After that, he decided to at least try and finish the ritual to revive Arachne. Since probably he could answer many of the questions that he had after reading all those scrolls and the book... If this was all actually real. He didn't doubt it too much though, it was way too elaborate to be a joke. Luckily, the process was simple enough. He pricked his ring finger with Toperia and let a drop of his blood fall on the bottom of the depression, then he went outside and brought some water, that he put in there as well. He then went outside again for the sand, which he carefully placed over. And finally, electricity, this wasn't too difficult to solve though. He simply put his hands near the circle and made the same thing he does when he makes plasma, but on a way lower scale to not burn anything. That should generate enough particle movement to produce a small amount of electricity, which he directed to the circle.

As he added his blood, he would see that the enchantments on the blae causes the blood to clot the moment it touched air, so as he he to bleed into the lower circle, it became a thick gel as it settled, and your wound would scab in moments. The water poured over the blood, and didnt mix at all. The sand would stay at the surface of the water, as you sprinkled it enough to not break the surface tension. Finally, he added electricity and the whole arrangement came to life. The rings around each layer began to spin, the runes etched into the stones began to glow with a purple aura. The water began to swirl around, the sand pooling in the center, but it was as if more sand was being made. Or was it dust now? Either way, a large ball of dust was forming in the center of the spiral. Eventually, the water and blood would mix, and then jump into the air, the dust jumping with them and forming a film over a floating ball of water. The pale dust took human shape, and the form of woman began to appear, a pale skinned done at that. Her eyes seemed to pull a violet glow back into them as she let out a scream and then collapses, drawing in breath. On her back were spider legs, she she looked around. And then down to realize she was completely and totally unclothed. So put the tips of her arachnid legs together and then pulled them apart, generating a black silk, a lot of black silk, where she spun her legs and then the slik covered her and formed into a black robe. A very... fitting robe.

She rubbed her forehead, her eyes closed, well, her humn eyes. The other eyes dotted around her head and neck didnt appear to have eyelids. Or pupils for that matter. They almost seemed glass? She would then look up at Edward. Opening her eyes, which seem to consit mostly of a pupil and sclera, and perhaps a thinner than visible iris you can tell the color of. Probably purple considering that seems to be a theme with her. If said iris even exists. "I feel like Hades injected me with his piss." Her fac was one of mild discomfort, but from the way she says that, she was probably in quite a bit of pain having just been resurected from the dead by magic you didnt even know existed. She then tries to get up, and then stumbles. "Ah, fuck,my everything hurts right now." She finally managed to stand, stretching. This causes every single bone in her body to pop, twice. She grunts, and then moves around. "Thats so much better." She breathes a deep sigh of relief her heavy chest heaving with the deflation of her lungs. She takes in another breath and coughs. SHe looks around. "What the hell happened... Did they kill me...? I strictly remember dying... But Im not...dead?" She seemed to be slightly confused. This was a goddess? Well, she seemed apt for a Goddess of weaving. But she seemed less glory and more sadism if looks are of any indication. A dark beauty to her.

While he was setting up the resurrection pit, Edward was impressed by the fact that it was actually working. The wound he made to himself scabbed immediatly after the drop of blood fell and clotted, the water didn't mix with the blood, and the sand didn't sink into the water. A very strange sight.
The small particle excitation he made actually worked. The whole device activated, moving and glowing, while the ingredients on it started acting even more weird. He took a few steps back and stared at the process, amazed. The mix floated into the air and slowly took the shape of a humanoid woman, a very beautiful one at that, the difference being she had spider legs protruding from her back and red jewels of some sort on her head and neck. These details and the scream she made as she fell to the ground, along with the fact that he didn't fully expect this to actually work, surprised Edward as he just stood there, unsure of what to do.
He shook his head as he came back to his senses and walked towards Arachne to aid her, however, he stopped in his tracks as he finally consciously noticed her nudity. Blushed, he removed his jacket and was about to give it to Arachne for her to at least cover herself a little bit, but he stopped once again as he saw her making a robe for herself, which was revealing... But way less awkward than just seeing her without any clothes. She expressed her discomfort on a few phrases as she slowly recovered from the pain she was feeling and got up.
After a couple of minutes stretching, she looked relieved. After that, she looked around, confused of what happened here considering what she said. "So you don't know what or where are we either?... And yes, you died. Apparently I just resurrected you... But I have no idea of what is or was going on here. I was actually hoping that you could tell me Arachne" he said as he was putting his jacket back on.

She takes a moment and runs her fingers through her hair. "Hold. Ive never died before now, and certainly never been resurrected by a very... makeshift ritual devised by our followers. Need a moment to gather my thoughts." She said this and then sat down on a chair that was carved from marble. It really didnt look too comfortable, She looked frustrated as she focused on her last memories. "I was in the underworld. Fifth Dimension Obviously, and I was weaving Hades a fire-proof robe. His last one had been charred to the point where the silk was no longer weavable. But before i was finished, the cosmic energy shifted drastically. I returned to the overworld with hades and... the Shadow. A shadow was sweeping across the plane. The Darkness was attacking us, and we were not expecting it. It had already blown right over most of our children. Turnning them into horrid things. The guardians had put up a fight, but the Shadows had slew me before we lost or won. I dont know what happened afterwards." Having managed to recall, her frustration quickly turned into panic. "Wait! Are they here! Did the darkness break through us? Where does the world stand?! She said this, her black eyes wider than before, her jewel-like spider-eyes turning yellow as she became nearly frenzied with panic.

Before he could ask any question, the godess apparently needed a moment to gather her thoughts. He had actually experienced something similar, in a very small scale quite obviously. He followed her quietly through the room and stood near her as Arachne revived her most recent memories, apparently being an acquaintance of an old greek god "Huh... So those existed... Either that or I actually got sent to other world by the demon and company... Should've expected that..." And she and her "children" were attacked by "the Darkness", which were turned into monsters. The whole story actually sounded familiar to him.
That's when she panicked and asked about the Darkness breaking through and where the world standed, her jewels changed color as her mood did, which reminded him of himself, but now was not the time to think about himself. He grabbed her by the shoulders and shook her body lightly so that she could focus on him instead of continuing with the panic. Then he would kneel down so that their eyes were at the same height, he then said "Hey, calm down... Don't worry. If we are still on my world, then no, the Darkness has not taken over the world... Not that they are not trying though. I don't know much about this Darkness aside from the fact that they are looking to consume our world... At least from what I have seen... For now though, just don't panic. Please"

She seemed slightly relieved until he said that they were trying. That means they were here. And instantly her glass spider eyes turned black with despair and she simply stopped trying. She walked over to her chair silently. And sat down, her eyes almost frozen in a state of shock as she stared at the floor. "We failed. The Shadow Overcame us. We have failed." She simply muttered this and then took a moment to take that sheer fact in. "What of the other Guardians? Hades? Odin? Aphrodite? Thanatos?" She would say this, the eyes turning grey, as she calmed slightly.

Edward sighed as apparently just having the Darkness in the world was a defeat already, which considering what he has seen, is understandable. She was quite upset, but at least she calmed down. Sadly, there was nothing he could do to cheer her up, her worry couldn't be solved just like that. "It's that bad huh..." he absentmindedly answered in a low voice, but quickly realized he wasn't helping. Before he could come up with something positive to say to Arachne, she asked about "other guardians", which were gods of old religions "...Those names are certainly familiar to me... The thing is that they are part of religions thousands of years old, religions that were forgotten a long time ago, so it would be impossible for me to know where they are or if they even existed... But considering that you are right here and that spell worked, is just as likely that they are alive somewhere. What's more, I can go back and give all the scrolls I found a read and re-read the ones that I already have... Maybe something could appear, after all, I also need a way out of whatever place or even world we are... I was actually looking for that before stumbling upon the resurrection ritual, I thought that could give me at least an indication of wherever the hell we are."

He would then talk about something that gave her a great concern. And as she heard it, she looke don the environemnt she was in. The ust on the groundwas so thick, she could see Johanns footprints and retrace every single step he took. Literally. But the spawn couldnt have been here that long. Which means that religions from thousands of years ago had reason to believe their gods were dead. "What gave it away...? If the darkness only appeared now, and the Religion died with us, what gave it away that we were dead. How would they have known to try and revive us? I dont think any of us had contact with humans at that time." She would question this, not that it made a difference. He suggested looking through the books and notes. "Its entirely possible that these people were planning to revive all of the guardians. It was probably before the faith died. We probably could have stopped it then. but now without our worshipers we have no power. Do you think its right to bring us back after we failed so miserably? Either way, i can help you as thanks for bringing me back. Also... you say get out of this place like you are trapped? She moved a bit too much and the portion of her dress covering her chest fell down. Noting the imminent reaction you had, she looked down, ad then pulled it back up. She then used her legs to tug on some of the thread, and she pulled it tightrs so it strained agaist her form. it wouldnt fall down like this, but it outlined her curves perfectly. an unintended pleasant side effect.

Arachne was wondering how whoever lived here knew about the gods' deaths, since apparently they didn't communicate with humans back then. Edward briefly thought about it before saying "Well, maybe they were just skilled enough with their magic for them to be able to know about your state... Maybe they just stumbled upon the work of somebody else, like I did... Or one of the gods that live guided them, because I'm pretty sure some are still around. After all, a few years ago demons and angels were just stories to me, and now they are everywhere. So it is plausible."
Then Arachne continued theorizing about how all of this came to be, and that without their worshippers they had no power. Then she asked if they were worthy of being revived. Edward wasn't really sure if that was a rhetoric question, so he decided to answer whatever the case "Of course! Why wouldn't you deserve a second chance when you were actually trying to do the right thing?" hoping to at least cheer her up a little bit, after all, what he said was true to him. She then questioned why he was speaking like he was trapped here, he sighed and said "Well... Not really trapped, it's more like lost. I was brought to a strange place that seemed like... Uh... he froze as his face got red once again as the robes covering Arachne fell down, revealing her chest. She noticed his embarrasment and pulled on the robes, which covered her again, but made her beautiful feminine body even more noticeable. He tried to regain composure as he looked up at her eyes again, clearing his throat before continuing with a little red still on his face ...A-Anyway, I have been on this huge cavern for several days now, without seeing any way up to the surface... If those demons didn't send me to other world, that is."

"Thats possible. It makes sense that the gods would flee when the realized it was lost. Though i cant imagine that many lived. She looked up and saw that Edward was attempting to cheer her up. Witha slight chuckle, she would reply. "This certainly wasnt what you expected from your day hm? She would say that, and then grina little. His reactions were entertaining. "We are underground. I see. If there is a way down, then there is a way up. Especially now, with me here. I believe i do owe you my life. Considering you gave it back to me after so long. I dont know if we should bring the others back. I suppose I am glad Im alive. But is it worth it? If you want, we can begin reviving the others, though it might be difficult. It seems like the rituals are very very specific and tailored to each one. Not to mention... This magic almost looks part Enochian. Possibly traces of Sumerian and Egyptian Magic as well... Its very... advanced. The ones who built it knew exactly what they were doing and how to achieve it. It would tke me a long time to devise something so powerful without divine help." She would then look at him. "Or we can find an exit and leave. It may eb possible to keep all these research notes and miscellaneous materials and try to recreate it in a more... Conveient spot. "Not at all, I certainly did not expect the chain of events that brought me here... I've had quite the adventure" Edward said to her. Then he saw her grin, an improvement on her mood, a small one, but an improvement nonetheless. Arachne said that certainly there was a way out of this seemingly endless underground world, even more with her here. This relieved Edward a bit, even if those were just words.
Arachne then continued wondering about her own life and the possibility of reviving the other gods back, to which he replied "Well, you seem pleased enough to be alive once again, but that might not be the case for everyone... This world is in the middle of a fight with the Darkness, they might not like to be in a world in such state. This actually makes me think about you... Are you really fine with being on a world such as this?... I apologize if I actually troubled you."

Like I said, I owe you more than I can possibly repay~" She would say this, and give a playful wink. Her smile was almost predatorial. "All in all, it comes down to would we rather be dead forever, or live again. If in a world full of murderous shadows from an un-realm. I would want to live. I think most of them would as well. Especially Aphrodite. She was very full of life. And if im completely honest, Mars would probably find this world as paradise... So many things to kill." She would say this, and run off ona little tangent, naming a few of the other guardians. Eventually, she would stop,a nd then shake her head. "As I said, we could take all the things that arent carved into the ground and do the ritual elsewhere in the world where resources are more readily available. Unles this location is needed for some of the rituals." Which it was. But this can also be fashioned into a portal if they change out some of the runes and fill it with water.

Even aware with the situation, Arachne was certainly glad of being alive, even with the way the world is. Edward smiled back nervously, as he noticed something off with her, but ignored that feeling for now. He just listened to Arachne talking about the other guardians, and then repeated that they should leave for a place where they could find the components more easily if the place wasn't necessary. "You're right, and I'm starting to feel hungry anyway, so leaving would be nice... If I remember correctly though, this place is a part of the process. However..." he said as he started searching on the pile of scrolls and the book ... I think that in one of these there were instructions for a portal. I skipped it because I thought that it was just a theory, a very bad move in retrospective..." while still looking for it.

"I can tell just by looking, it wont work. We used similar portals in our sub-aether. They arent one way. They can only function as a Network of two or more. If we want to use it as a warp Input, we need to set up an output node elsewhere. So we need to find a manual way out first. But first we should set this up so its ready if we want to build a new one. Either way. If we need food, I can produce something that can keep you satisfied for a day or two on the return trip. If you set it up we can be on our way. " She would say that and then wait for him to read the scripts. She would then ask for instruction about how to inscribe the blank runes and the set up. She would then do it with extreme efficiency. it looked professional. Afterwards, she would wait for edward to use his spark to initiate the portal. And when he did, it would glow and the rings would spin. But nothing else. "Well then. Shall I spin a package to carry the materials? She said this, and then produced more silk, and lot of it. Seems she was waiting for a yes. And when she recieved it, she would sow the pack and help fill it. The old fragile books placed elsewhere in the pack to keep them in pristine condition.

Ready? and then started to instruct her on how to set it up, she expertly followed his instructions. After finishing, another spark made the thing spin and glow, so it was ready.
Edward stretched as he heard Arachne asking if she should make a package for the things. He said "Sure, that sould make it easier to carry." And when he did he helped her fill it up. When it was ready, he picked up the package and asked "Ready to go? Or do you need something else from here? He asked as a formality mostly, as he doubted that there would be something else she needed from this place. She was just resurrected after all.

She would take a moment to think about his query, and to that she nodded. How much do you think that armor will weigh. And if its too heavy, I would like to wrap the man inside it up and throw his body into the ocean. A proper burial dont you think? After all, as long as you do it respectfully, their spirit doesnt mind how their body is disposed of. For the most part." it would turn out he metal was to hevay to take with them, and she would wrap the armor and man in a coccoon of white silk. Which she would then sit at the waters edge. Then push into the ocean.

"In about a day, that web will become water logged, and he will sink into the ocean. The web exudes a terrible pheromone. The creatures will leave it be. So, i will need to spin us a pod to float across the ocean in. Close quarters, So i hope you dont mind~ She would say this, and then motioned him toa small cliff. Extending two feet above the water. "When it give the signal, jump off, and we should land on the water in a pod. Ready... set... go!' She herself would jump, and rapidly spina web around them before they hit the water. the web contracted intoa ball of webbing that was stretchy and water-proof, allowing them to float. three of her legs were attached to it, tugging on the things to steer the pod along the waves. However, she meant close quarters. her chest was quite literally pressing against his back, and her legs were wrapped around his because there wasnt room elsewhere. "Get comfy Eddy, we might be in this position for a little while." She almost seemed pleased by this new development. She would wrap her arms around Edwards chest to preserve space as they rode the waves. Now was a great time to get to know each other. Since there was quite literally nothing else to do. They were in a silk ball riding an underground ocean surrounded by water and storms.

Arachne actually wanted to give a "proper burial" to the body Edward found, along with its armor. The armor was quite damaged by time and weighed too much to be carried with them, so he didn't really mind parting with it. He just nodded and reassembled the armor onto the body and watched as Arachne set it on the ocean in silence, glad to not have disturbed the spirit with his investigation. That was certainly something he will keep in mind when interacting with the dead in the future.
After that, he followed Arachne to a cliff nearby, where she explained their method of transportation. He wasn't really fond of the idea of blindly jumping off a cliff, but at this point in time, he had no choice. Edward nodded after hearing all of the instructions and waited for the signal. When he heard her say "ready" he took a deep breath and held it in, "Set" and he braced himself for the jump by closing his eyes. After what felt like a way longer wait, he ran and jumped as he heard "go". He wasn't able to even panic as he saw the web sorrounding them really fast, and with an almost dissaponting bounce, they safely landed on top of the water.
After the adrenaline from the jump wore off, which took a few moments, he realized how small the makeshift ship was. The size of the thing made him and Arachne to be way closer than he expected when he heard "close quarters". He blushed deeply as Arachne wrapped her arms and human legs aroound him, too embarassed to even reply to her comment with anything but a nervous chuckle. This was certainly going to be a very long trip for him.

Arachne, seeing his reactions, was amused. She began to metaphorically poke at him. "I take it you are very comfortable judging by your face. Either way, tell me if you get hungry. I can produce something that can keep you slightly nourished for a while. So then, se have a bit of time. Tell me about yourself." She said this, poking his cheeks and resting her head on his shoulder since she really didnt have anywhere else to lay it. She waited on Edwards reply. Not like she had too much to do. And the Goddess was getting bored.

Arachne called him out on his lack of comfort with the situation, to which he stayed silent for a moment before sighing "I'm not used to being so close to other people, let alone a goddess, that's all." Then nodded as she told him about the food, but refused to accept it for now due to his current position.
Edward twitched a little when Arachne rested her head on his shoulder while poking him, nervously spouting "W-Well, what would you like to know?" At this point, he was just trying to mentally block his uncomfort with the situation with talk.

She would chuckle. Then i suppose after this, you will be quite comfortable with me clinging to you~ A good way to help you adapt if i say so myself~ She would then think. "Well I dont know. We are all but strangers arent we? Except that you saved my life and all. Well, gave it back. Tell me what you like and dislike? That should get a good conversation going~"
