Okay this was a good special chapter here. Showed more on Shouko's family side, and I liked it. Shouko really had a hard childhood. Also mad respect to the Grandma, we lost her too soon :(

The author is really good at creating sad short stories. I quite liked this short and sweet story (although my heart broke just a bit)

"my daughter is deaf and gets bullied everyday in school so instead of showing her some love i'm gonna make her life even more miserable and cause her even more mental issues"
but i guess she made a cake at the end and laughed so it's ok

This one-shot embodies pretty much everything I disliked about Koe no Katachi movie and how it objectified Shouko's disability and problem of bullying.

But hey, that "demonic mom" has enjoyed the cake at the end, so we should be happy, eh...?

By the way, this short chapter should be mandatory to read before watching the movie, since it has information on why Shouko didn't attend to a special school.
