Help with archiver

Hello.
I need help with WinRar file archiver. The following error message is displayed, when I try to use the WinRar to extract a compressed file with the .rar format file name extension: The archive is in unknown format.

Can anyone advise me how to repair .rar file?

Hi,

Use WinRAR and browse to where the archive is located and use the repair option directly on the archive.
Folder to put the repaired archive: Your Desktop is recommended
Archive type: Treat the corrupt archive as RAR
Go onto your desktop (Or where you put the repaired archive)
Open the new RAR file
OR
Download WinRAR Repair Kit http://www.winrar.repair/

Install
Extract file
Enjoy
