| ***Please only read this after you have finished the entirety of Death Note.*** When L is killed by the shiagami Rem, there is no way that he could have predicted that. The fact that Rem loved Misa was the cause of his death and Rem gave her life in order to kill L. At the end of the series when Light is killed, it is done by Ryuk and there is no way he could have prevented his death either. I believe that even if Light had succeeded in killing everybody that knew about the Death Notes, Ryuk would have still killed him because Light's lifetime had run out. Light's death also occurred because of the mistake made by Mikami. I am a fan of Light and wanted to see him win and have Misa as his queen, but I understand how this is a good ending with the way it is. N and Mello were not nearly as interesting as L was, so having Light die in a way that was out of his hands is suiting because L also died because of something out of his control. |
