I'm actually like that trope. Like the show open with some character talking about the story like that. Not as a narrator ofc. But maybe it's to difficult to expressing some emotions like the 3D human for the show. |

| I dont think there is an anime like that. Monster is very good, but i do not think it has the interview storytelling method. It sounds very interesting though, and now I wish there was an anime like that. Maybe there is, but it's probably a very hidden gem. |
| Comparing a masterpiece like True Detective to pleb cartoons? Not a good idea mayt lol. As others have said, the closest thing would be Monster. You can also try Gankutsuou - not for the narrative technique, but the similar characters and atmosphere. |
