| Just finished Watashi ga Motenai and, call me weird, but I like shows that kinda just make you feel depressed and/or sorry for the characters in it. I've already seen NHK a long time ago. All the other recommendations listed on that anime page are for lighthearted comedies like Lucky Star or Daily Lives of Highscool Boys, which is far from what I'm looking for. |

| It's rare for a anime to give that feeling, as there tends to be more upbeat moments purposed placed, to preven such a feeling taken place after a tragic event. If movies are allowed, by all means check out Kumo no You ni, Kaze no You ni and to a slightly lesser extent Ark(2005), it tries to put a bitter sweet spin on the ultimate outcome, but It's still mostly sad. If it needs to be a series, maybe Letter Bee(not the 1st season, but 99% of the 2nd season is darkness, and utter despair, so that may do the trick for you, although it does end with a semi happy ending. |
