Novelist Honobu Yonezawa announced on Twitter on Saturday that he plans to release a new volume in his Kotenbu series of mystery novels in November. The new volume will collect previously published short stories in the series, including "Renpō wa Hareteiru ka?" "Kagami ni wa Utsuranai," "Nagai Kyūjitsu," and "Ima Sara Tsubasa o Iwaretemo."

The new volume will be the sixth in the series. Yonezawa published the fifth book, Futari no Kyori no Gaisan, in 2010.

Good news!! i never read a light novel before, but this one is my favorite (because of the anime), so i might add this to my readlist when the new vol. is released.
also, hope i can see some good development between Oreki & Chintanda :D

I hope this means we can expect more to come after this volume... A sequel of the anime would be great

I'm convinced, there must be a god.

Now Kyoto Animation must proceed to make another type of adaptation, not only that, there is now a bigger possibility of Hyouka being localized.

2016 has been unreal.

What a coincidence! I am in Nihon the whole year and befor I have to leave the country again, there will be some new stuff about my #2 series to buy here. ^^ Would be a nice item to bring back home. I hope I can find this in some book store (and maybe the other volumes, too). There need to be new stuff for producing at least a movie (with present KyoAni animation standards <3 ). x)

Any news about the new volume?

In most cases, the MAL Average Scores don't mean anything, here is a question: were the works made before 2000 all shit?
Why are they so damn scarce in the Top 50? Think about how MAL is quite literally a filtered amount of the Anime fanbase.

Here's a timeline of the Top 15 in which you can check that, almost always, the scores are affected by the freshness, popularity and other factors that have nothing to do with quality.

Soooooo... Hyouka Season 2 Confirmed or Nae?

Because I FUCKING hate Kyoto Animation for having FREE! a second season than this majestic masterpiece. Also, I also did a little research that Futari no Kyori no Gaisan (The Approximation of the Distance of Two (ふたりの距離の概算)) is NOT yet covered on Hyouka. For unknown reasons, and they only covered 1-4 Volumes...
If God exists, then he should try extending my deadline right now!

I've not heard of any plan for a second season.

Also bear in mind that KyoAni own the copyright to Free, and that the anime was an original story. This makes it easier for them to produce a second season than it would be for Hyouka.

Oh, and Free is far more successful than Hyouka was, although Hyouka did sell easily enough for a second season to make sense (or to have made sense).
Hibike! Euphonium is probably a better comparison in both these respects.
