| Could someone please instruct me how to make a fandub? I have a mic, Audacity and Windows movie maker and VLC media player. I've been trying to do research for the past few hours and I've gotten nowhere. I'm sure I can figure out how to use WMM so i'm not too worried about that. The main issue i'm having is, how do I isolate just the vocals so I can mute them while keeping background sound fx and music? I understand that I am probably going to have to convert my video file to an audio one, like mp3 or something but what do I do from there? Someone who is experienced please hold my hand and walk me through this. I'd really like to dub something! Thanks in advance! |

| Thanks for the quick reply! And I'm quite sure its possible. It has to be.. I've seen comedic fandubs that have all the original sound FX. I understand that some files might be harder to work with than others but i just really want to know so that I can keep the original authenticity of whatever scene I do choose. |

| I believe it's a fairly similar process to unofficial instrumental versions of songs. I'm sure there's some software that can do it, but you'll need to spend a lot of time watching tutorials and trial and error. |

| I ended up just choosing a scene without background music for my first attempt. I'm proud of it regardless of how mediocre it may be. Haha. I did a short clip from Kissxsis. Would anyone care to see/listen? |

| I wouldn't mind watching it. It's probably a lot better than any of my fandubs (they were very cringeworthy). Now I only do fansubs, comedy or otherwise, partly because of how monotone my voice is. |

| You have a beautiful voice, but I don't think you put enough emotion into it. If you can get a female to do Akane's voice it would also sound better. There's a bit of a disconnect when two characters are speaking different languages yet acting as if they are speaking the same one. |

| Totally understandable. I didn't really want to overexaggerate it hence the semi lackluster quality. I'm sure I can do better if more emotion is what you think is necessery. I just didn't want to go overboard like a spazz. Haha. Thank you for the constructive criticism and quick reply! I'll try another scene tonight with what you said in mind and post the results then! |
