I were wondering whether this was a pure sequel, or an 'alternative version' in the sense I don't need to watch S1 first?

Robot's aren't my thing, I just want my yuri.

Super late here but, no, it's "alternate."

In fact, don't bother with S1 at all, it's bad.

Are you serious, m8? S1 was so good. S2 should be skipped -- it was 12 episodes wasted on a complete reboot with all filler. smh
