I just finished the anime and this was probably one of the best shows I've seen so far, story was great, the characters were fantastic; and this was a show that actually made me feel emotional when major events happened like every single death in this show made me feel sorry for the character, i was surprised by envy's death the most just felt sorry for the poor bastard. Also the show didn't feel to long or to short and overall left a good taste in my mouth. Now I will join the rest of you and complain about how no other show can live up to Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood *sigh* unless you guys no some good shows that can fill this void.

It doesn't look like you're into manga, but you might give the manga a try because it's like Brotherhood only even better :) It was the first manga I really loved.

For anime, I don't know what I should recommend to you because you've seen the ones I would recommend! Another anime that I really like is "The Twelve Kingdoms," and you might like it especially since you liked Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit. The animation is dated and not very high quality, though. Even so, it has really good world building and excellent character development. The main character starts out very whiny, though, and the first couple of episodes are not that great. But it gets really good.

The journey might have been interesting but for an ending it seems average to me, with a lot of other series' endings surpassing it quite a bit, KLK with its epic nature.
