A Cathedral, where the Sage lies and where the religious vampires and ghouls(mostly ghouls) come to prey for the Goddess Blood and to ask for her forgiveness.

The Cathedral is mostly visited during rituals, though many vampires can be seen here daily to talk with the Sage and ask for his advice. It is not rare to even see the King come to give his regards to the man, who is as important a figure as any councilor.

Deeply inhaling the air within the ancient building and exhaling, an arrogant and sarcastic voice then left the mouth responsible. "Ah! A Cathedral! I haven't been here in ages! ...Or to any Cathedral really! ...Why am I here again?" He tall man in a trademark garb of bloody-red outerwear covering a formal black suit. As he waltzed nonchalantly down the isle, ignoring any of the vampires who were slightly narrowing their eyes at him, ergo rabble as he identified them as, the raven-haired bloodsucker began searching for the man he came here to see; an old friend. He was almost as old as Alistair himself... almost, and despite his being the head of religious activities and Alistair's blatant refusal to rely or believe in anything besides his own abilities, they got along fairly well... which spoke incredibly highly of the Sage considering few found it able to stand Alistair's attitude.

As the elder vampire made his way to the front where the Sage in question would likely be, Alistair finally reached up and removed his hat from the top of his head."Ah yes... To see an old fool almost as aged a one as myself. That's right... Why couldn't you be the Sage of a restaurant? We could sit... eat... there wouldn't be any incessant mumblings... Oh, no, of course there would be. Everyone always yells in the eateries. Why?" He called out to the fellow elder with a light chuckle. "It's so dull in here. How do you cope? I would have nailed myself to a cross in order to ease myself of the apathy were I stuck in here all day," He stated as he grew close enough for his acquaintance to hear him, intentionally quoting a certain religion worshiped among some cultures of mortals.

Alistair noted that there were a few of his kin apparently waiting to speak with the Sage, though the Elder payed them no mind. In honesty, he didn't care. Not one bit. Even if they did something. Still, likely, he wouldn't care unless they surprised them... which... was unlikely...

The sage sat on the front of the Cathedral's hall, where a large seat, almost as tall as the building, stood. However, that seat was not for him, no. The Sage instead sat on a small chair beside it. The big seat was for the King, after all. He always went through this usual routine every week, talk to the ghouls, speak with the nobles, however, this night he wasn't lucky enough to see a Councilor yet. Which was good. Usually, Councilors brought complex and difficult questions, ones that required the Sage to take a few minutes to respond. "...You must be careful with your maiden, my dear friend. She is a woman of strong personality, but she is also a woman of bewildering actions. Do not be afraid to press her." With those last words, the noble vampire nodded to him as he then got up and stood, turning his back to the Sage and walking out.

Everything was going well today until... Well, this wasn't much of a surprise but, the Elder One entered the building. Of course, the Sage expected it to happen.

The Sage, as he was called, had resigned his name upon an early age to enlist into religious activities. However, the reason was not because he wanted to, but because he was fated to. The man was cursed and plagued by visions of the future and the ability to predict everything that would happen, one of the main reasons why people trusted his advice. Though the gift that was given to him appeared ever since he was a child, it took him almost a century to fully master it, a century of meditation and peace of mind.

The Elder One, an old friend, walked into the room and then made his way through the hall to the frontal area of the building. The Sage chuckled as he got up. "Ah, Alistair. It is always good to see an old friend." As he said that, a small smile appeared in the man's face. He wore the cardinal robes, completely black with only a few red stains on it, likely from the sacrifices and from the sacrament. As the Elder vampire walked towards him, he made comments on how the place was so boring and monotone. "Alistair, you'd be surprised to see how many of the nobles come carrying unbelievable tales of their life. Surely, it might sound dull to someone who has lived their life causing chaos and seeing it unfold, but to me, it is very satisfying to use my ability to important things. I'm also glad to see you received my message." With that, the Sage turned towards the line of people and moved his hands, ordering them to disperse. "I will rest now. You can all come back on the next night cycle." With that, some rumblings could be heard as everyone slowly left the Cathedral.

After everyone left and the doors were closed, the Sage sat down and pointed for Alistair to do the same. "How have you been, Alistair? I've read your letters and they carried some astonishing news. I hope you've been psychologically recovering from the damages of those happenings." The man was kind. It could be said that he was the opposite of Alistair, but perhaps that was why the two were such close friends. "I have some news for you and I see you received my note. You must prepare yourself though, these aren't just any sort of news." He said after Alistair answered him.

With a grin stretching across his face as the Sage acknowledged his presence, Alistair laughed. "Likewise! For some reason, most people tend not to enjoy my company... They're either scowling at me or cowering. I can't imagine why... Hm... Maybe I shouldn't have killed off the manor guard before stopping in the study for some wine... No, that can't be it. I just don't get humans, sometimes!" He sarcastically spun a short story. He spoke as if it happened only recently, and it very well may have. Good luck confirming it, however. Moving on from that, his old friend began to tell of how some of the noble's had fascinating tales. Chuckling at that, Alistair waved his hand at the Sage dismissively. "Yes, yes. Still the hero and the helper. Thankfully unlike most others carrying the title, you still retain some sense."

However, sarcastic remarks aside, it was time to move onto the reason for being there; this message. "Yes. At first I was quite upset... I did some... counseling. Then I was still upset, so I tried some more and... I was still upset.. and... Oh, that's right. I'm still upset. Speaking of the counseling, don't bring any Humans in here for more than five seconds. Used to be only one, but with restraint and willpower I've worked my way up to a whole five seconds of holding back my urge to... What was the word..." Doting on that, Alistair appeared to be thinking as he brought a hand up to grasp his chin in thought. Then he finally snapped his fingers and stopped pacing. "Yes! ...Wait... No, yes! Mutilate! That's the word!" He finally finished. Obviously he still hadn't fully recovered, though likely he appreciated the Sage's care even if he didn't show it.

Nodding, Alistair approached the seat as asked while removing his coat, then sitting down in the chair leaned back with one leg over the other, hat on thigh, coat on the arm of it and hands interlocked and laying in front of the hat in his lap. Ergo, a dandy posture. "You know I have never been the best at controlling myself... though, because of our friendship, I will make sure to maim someone outside so as to not stain your new carpets and curtains... Now then, what is it? It sounded important... and not much is all that important to me, so I assume it's something that's worth my interest."

The Sage chuckled at the vampire's words before he continued. "You know I do have visions of the future. Before, I could see only a couple of decades ahead but... Lately, a specific vision has been very troubling for me. This vision seems to be spanning not a few decades or a century, even. In fact, it's quite near." With that, he acquired a very serious expression as he continued. "A girl will come to our home, carrying the Artifact. Not any girl, Alistair. Your daughter." With that, he looked towards the Elder One. "And that's not all. I received some information from my in-land spies of the Human World. They say that there is a girl who fits the description you gave me. It is just ironic she is working for a faction that has the same religious directions as ours, though you already know the humans believe in a very distorted version of it. Most likely a remnant of our Firstbloods who lived in their lands." With that, he sighed and picked up his cane. The sage had severe physical problems. Unlike other vampires, it took him weeks to recover from injuries and that was not all, though he was getting better as of lately.

"Alistair, this place is like a nest of vipers. You need to be careful with every move. Though I'm sure you don't believe it, people here are merciless and they will kill if anyone gets in their way." His tone had changed as well by now, almost a whispering tone. "You must gain the help of at least one Councilor. Convince them that your cause is good for them and they will aid you in waging war against the humans." With that, he leaned back on the chair.

The Sage sighed once more and closed his eyes briefly. "The vision was that the girl would return carrying the artifact, but that the councilors would attempt to kill her at all costs due to her half-blood. You know how picky they are with their pure-blood rules. In my opinion, everyone should be equal, a much better way to make the system work. At any rate, you must be careful, Alistair." With that serious warning, the man smiled slightly.

Listening to this, Alistair seemed not to move, though a subtle twitch of the hand could be spotted. "I know how well you know me... so I trust that you aren't going off a hunch or educated guess... Though, this news brings me both joy and further aggravation. Of course, you likely can guess that this artifact is something that I truly... care not about. If this escort of it truly is my daughter however... I will reclaim her... at any cost," He stated calmly, though not cold and serious as was his angered persona, but still serious to an extent. Alistair couldn't care less about this artifact really. His daughter however... He thought her lost along with his wife. Two were the joys of his existence... only to be ripped away from him. He had lived longer than any else yet the insignificant amount of years that he spent having believed his little girl was lost seemed to extend past the rest of his years... Were it anyone else that told him, there was no doubt Alistair would have killed them and assumed they were lying... but the Sage's words were trustworthy.

However, the aggravating part was with what came next from the Sage's mouth; his warnings, both in general and about his daughter. Standing up, he began to reequip his coat as the Sage spoke, obviously wanting to prepare for his daughter's arrival as soon as possible. Freezing at the warnings of attempted murder, the air chilled around the Elder. "I don't think I need to tell you this, old friend..." He began, now speaking in a voice that said in and of itself that he was not lying, nor bluffing nor being arrogant nor underestimating anyone. "...but... It is not a matter of gaining favor and getting my way. It will happen. That is a good metaphor... but the rabble inhabiting this territory are exactly that; vipers. They are snakes, nothing more nothing less. I am not a worthless serpent... and a mere strand of my girl's hair outranks such worthless trash. Should they dare to touch her... It will not me myself who is locked under this sky of permanent darkness with them... but they who are locked here with Me."

"I will get my way... and I will protect her... I will not fail either of them a second time." Grabbing his hat and placing it on his head, obviously he was referring to both his former wife as well as daughter. And though arrogant-sounding, Alistair would succeed. Whenever he was taken aback or outmaneuvered was when he was screwing around. He never had anything for him to take seriously, which was fortunate for others... Now, he had something to take seriously... He would accomplish what he set out to do by any means necessary. "That is another reason I detest our kin... We act so superior to mortals... yet, we act no differently from they. They still fight over such trivialities, and so do we. Such ignorance... Regardless, I am grateful for this information... This greatly puts me in your debt... Now, as you can likely understand, I would like to get a head start in preparation... Unless you have something else to note?" Turning back to the Sage with the very rare expression of utmost seriousness, he would await to make sure there was nothing else before continuing on.

The Sage seemed to smile by seeing Alistair's reaction. Though Alistair didn't knew it, he found it to be a great thing. Alistair needed a reason to do things. Giving him this reason would be enough to let him get his head straight. However, he seemed to highly disregard the Artifact and the Councilors, which wasn't a bad thing, but could get him in trouble.

The Sage's smile slightly changed upon hearing his words, but he remained quiet as the man got up and dressed himself. "Alistair, you surely understand this might spark a civil war." With that, he got up as well, using his cane to help him up. "The rest of the vision involves a war not between you and them, but a war between the ghouls and the lords, with your daughter leading the ghouls. Should this happen, I will try my best to remain as impartial as I can be, but you can rely on my aid for anything to come, my friend." With that, the man smiled once more.

"You don't owe me anything. I'm doing this because of our friendship, Alistair. I'm also trusting you to do the right thing when the time comes. There are some other troublesome topics I might need to talk with you, but I still need to immerse myself in studying them before I confirm anything. If I have anything for you, I'll send you a message." The Sage walked alongside Alistair to the exit, keeping the smiling face all the time. He knew how dangerous Alistair was, but that was perhaps what he needed. A dangerous Alistair would be better than a whimsical Alistair, though the two were as deadly, the dangerous Alistair was far more direct and less prone to making stupid mistakes.

As they reached the door, the Sage turned to Alistair again. "Alistair, don't mention this to absolutely anyone. My aid for you might be seen by the vipers as a threat against their command and then come to kill me, though they surely will have to try very hard..." The Sage was an expert on magic, and not only blood magic. Perhaps he was the only person that was a threat to Alistair in this castle, but the relationship of the two would surely never let that happen. "...And please, Alistair... Do not jump to violence immediately. I'm asking you this because I wish to see this resolved with the least bloodshed possible and this is the first Moonlit Prophecy I had in centuries. If your girl arrives here and you don't have a place to keep her at, bring her to me and I will take care of her and protect her when you can't." With that, he smiled once more and placed one of his hands on Alistair's shoulder. "Prepare, my friend. Moonlit Prophecies often aren't wrong, but they usually carry unpleasant surprises." With that, he opened the doors for Alistair and made his way back to the chair at the back of the building.

Alistair didn't necessarily disregard the councilors and artifact, rather they were less of a priority. He planned to go sway some of them as soon as he left, however if it came to one thing or the other, his daughter would be his main focus.

Onto the matter of a civil war, it didn't much change the fact of things. If his daughter went to war against the nobility... well, who would Alistair really side with? It wasn't too hard to guess. Rather, it was quite obvious. "If they make an enemy out of my daughter, they will make an enemy out of me. Unless they don't do what either of us expect them to do, ergo be intelligent, it will end up as a conflict between them and I regardless. As for the help, I do appreciate it and will be sure to take care in how I acquisition it. Better for you to look impartial at the least."

Then came a somewhat cryptic notion of trust. "The right thing? Oh come now, the definition of that changes between each person. Besides, when have I ever followed anyone's meaning of the right thing. Regardless, I'll keep my ears open for any word from you, and if you require any assistance, feel free to say so," Alistair assured him.

Finally came likely the most important piece of information. Pausing at that, Alistair held a serious expression before it loosened a bit and he eventually sighed. "Yes, Mother... I promise to play nice with the other children..." He assured the Sage as he turned once again to leave. "But if they touch my little girl, I won't hold back, whether as a favor to you or anyone else." As he stated that with more of a serious tone once again, Alistair finally exited the cathedral and left to go find the Councilors. Hopefully it wouldn't be much of a hassle to sway one or two over to his side.
