There are 3 main religions in Farem. Originaly there was only one religion in Farem, this religion centered around 12 gods. A 13th god was written down in history as a messiah, a god who took human form and did miraculous deeds and such, this messiah's name was Asriel, although he is long forgotten now. The feud between Kubal and Arzla however split the religion in half and each side took 6 of the 12 gods for their own...
Kabulism
The first is the religion of Kabul, they worship what they call the sand gods. Arzla refer to Kabulism as simply the Sand Religion. For Kabul, religion is a major factor, this is a result of living in the desert where conditions are harsh. They preform daily offerings of food and the like to these gods, to keep their favor. The Kabulians do not believe in an afterlife, instead they believe that when a soul leaves a body, (someone dies), it will roam the Earth as a ghost. This is until it can find a baby host, it carries no memories and simply lives its life all over again.
The gods:
- The Guardian of the Dead
- The God of Gold and Trade
- The Goddess of Wine and Silver
- Keeper of the Sands and Oasis
- God of the Sea
- Goddess of the Sky
Arzlanism
Arzla took the other half of the gods. Arzla is not as religiously focused as Kabul, unlike Kabul, they do not have a religious head, instead they have numerous monks that speak for the gods. Arzla do get married before the eyes of the gods however, they believe that when a couple are married in the sight of gods, they will be united in the afterlife as well. The afterlife for Arzlanism is called Heaven, they believe that the gods there will welcome worshipers with open arms and send idol worshipers to hell.
The gods:
- The All Father
- The All Mother
- The God of Steel (War God)
- The Goddess of Fertility (Harvests and sex)
- The Keeper of Winter (there version of the god of death)
- God of Valor
Blood Worship
Blood worship is a small religion in Arzla, the followers of this religion are part of a cult called "Blood Reverence". Blood worship is the belief that there is only a single God, her name is Blood. They believe that Blood sheds herself over the lands of Farem and these droplets become beings that live and breath. When these beings eventually die, they return to the great Blood and become whole once again, they bring the knowledge of their life to Blood and as a result make her wiser. Fanatics believe that spilling blood daily will provide a direct connection to Blood and make both her and themselves wiser and more powerful. This ritual is called "Reciprocity" as it is an exchange of knowledge. They also offer the service of assassination, they do this for money of course. They believe that sending someone to rejoin Blood, (killing someone), is the greatest gift they can give anyone. However the person that is to rejoin Blood must not be willing, otherwise the rejoining will fail and they will continue to live as a mere droplet upon Earth, however if they are willing and they die of natural causes then the rejoining will succeed. This is why members of Blood Reverence have to have natural deaths.
