I loved this anime and I wanted to find more but the recommendations did not help. Does anyone know anymore shows that are similar/

This anime was very very good. I dont know other anime with storyline like this, i hoping for second season, but the second season seem not produced.

Maybe you could try Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo or Golden Time, Kaichou wa maid sama.
I really think that there was no anime like this, kawaishou really something.

The only anime I could connect to this one is Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun. It's really funny and it has interesting characters too. The main also has their eye on someone, but the series doesn't focus too much on the romance/emotions as much as Kawaisou atleast. Definitely check it out

Maison Ikkoku, if you dont mind an older series. Its basicly the same boarding house premise, and even has a few scenes the THIS anime copied from IT, especially the scene in the first episode where he tries to leave but meets "Her" at the doorstep and decides to stay. oh yeah its also hailed as the best anime romance the the rest are based off of. Plus there's comedy, so whats not to like?
