This is my favorite anime of all time. It even ranks above Mobile Suit Gundam. Post here if this is also your #1 anime.
I'm back.

Yeah, it is one of the best ever, indeed. After all, it is still getting more and more depth with the Gaidens, even after nearly 25 years.

I still watch the series over and over and i never get tired of it!

I wasnt feeling the Shin Hokuto No Ken Ovas but the new movies and OVAs that have finished were very good,it was great to see what Kenshiro was doing before his appearance on the tv series.

i hope they are making more and that they dont take a large number of years again to do it.

I know this thread is old but I think too HNK is really good and rather underrated, which mainly is because the first ~20? Episodes it does not appear very deep and kinda formulaic. I'm not sure about #1 but its really good without a doubt.

When we reach the end of the first Shin arc and afterwards you notice some very deep scenes and characters. I even think this show influenced many other Animes. The main antagonist (Raoh) is one of the deepest and most interesting antagonists I have seen.

Currently I am watching Dragonball Z and eventhough I really love DBZ I have to say it's pale in some aspects to HNK when we talk about character deepness and other aspects.

Also I don't know if it's just me but is it possible some later famous Manga/Anime got influenced ?

Juuza for example is just soooo much like Sanji from One Piece. The love for girls, the kicking etc. It's almost obvious to me.

Also I think this Joker spy guy in the first arc has many similarities to Hisoka from HxH.

In one episode there was even a woman who resembled Taxido Mask from Sailor Moon in the appearance and entrance (with rose, came down from above etc.) in a shocking way. Check Episode 38 for this.

I could name even more here, its obvious this show influenced many mangaka in the end 80s/90s I think it should be way more famous than it is.
