new to manga! need some RECs

hey all i have watched quite a bit of anime but have recently gotten interested in manga. I need some recommendations on what to start with. like what are the best manga that haven't be turned into anime? or what are some manga that have anime but the manga is much better. i like all kinds of genres (never hurts to have a little romance mixed in)

any help would be appreciated!

Kaichou wa Maid-sama! - i noticed you liked the anime... the manga is better and it shows the rest of the story

GE: Good Ending - is one of the best romance manga i have read

Immortal Regis - action and romance though its a Manhwa

Onanie Master Kurosawa - is really unique with a great MC

Tsukihime - heaps better then the anime

having an updated anime list makes life easier for everyone

Here's some of my favorites:

Dengeki Daisy - Absolutely awesome! Action, mystery, romance, lots of humor, etc.

Shinrei Tantei Yakumo - Just got into this one and I'm already hooked!

Black Bird - Real in depth story involving demons.

Shinobi Life - Lots of romance but equal amounts of action. Very interesting.

Keishichou Tokuhanka 007 - The art is not so great but I really enjoyed the story.
