Haven't seen The Castle of Cagliostro or Ponyo on a Cliff (edit)

But I voted Princess Mononoke. This was the movie that got me to watch the Miyazaki movies I have.

2nd favorite is Spirited Away.

Perhaps followed by Howl's Moving Castle. I really need to watch Nausicaa again for some reason the times I did I never really got into it. Castle in the Sky is okay but I don't recall being too thrilled with it.

While My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki's Delivery Service, & Porco Rosso (preference in order of appearance here) are cute I can't really say I'd watch them over something else.
Such junk...

The Castle of Cagliostro for me probably for the sole fact that I'm a huge Lupin fan

to be honest, i have only watched a few of his movies. i should really catch up on those because they are simply masterpieces. i have a friend named canada and this guy owns pretty much every movie made by Miyazaki. i wonder what his fav.is? btw, i am happy this post is gaining popularity^^

I love all of his films... for me it's a tie between castle in the sky and whispers of the heart.

Princess Mononoke.

There's one good thing I can say about Miyazaki's films - even though you may not have watched one of his movies you know exactly what you're going to be getting. A very slow and long story. The animation and characters I can't say differ too much from each movie, either.

I have not watched Kiki's Delivery Service or The Castle of Cagliostro (never heard of this one till now)

1. Princess Mononoke
2. Spirited Away
3. Nausicaä
4. Porco Rosso
5. Castle in the Sky

I feel bad leaving out Kiki and Totoro! Really though, Miyazaki/Ghibli is just the best.

Deleted some trolling. Also, of the poll options, The Castle of Cagliostro is clearly the best.

Yeah, I think it's my favorite as well. It was the first Miyazaki movie I saw, which makes it a bit "special"...

Ditto. My first as well. I thought Totoro looked kinda oversized but anyway it'd make a very good bolster/pillow lol.

I still have My Neighbour Totoro and Ponyo by the Cliff to see, but hardly will they surpass Spirited Away in my top favorite ghibli film.

Nice poll!
I haven't seen all of them, but I've seen most of them.
I voted for Spirited Away, it was my first Miyazaki movie and I got very interested in his work since then.
My Neighbour Totoro and Gake no ue no Ponyo are also really good.

Kiki was definitely one of his best works he and ghibli have ever done. Just had that near perfection to it all, but a close second would be Nausicaa.

I guess everyone says Spirited Away or Mononoke, but honestly, I wasn't a huge fan of Spirited Away.

Well, Spirited Away will always make me feel nostalgic and warm inside, and the others are also great, my favorite has to be Howl's Moving Castle. Its world and characters reel me in and kept me at the edge of my seat for the whole ride. Porco Rosso was a close second but Howls Moving Castle won best Hayao Miyazaki film for me.

I think Castle in the Sky was my favorite, though Kiki was a pretty fun movie as well. Good pacing for both with a coherent, fun plot.
All the others that I've seen I didn't like much.

After flipping about five coins, I struggled in finalizing on Spirited Away. Totoro and Laputa are up there.

I'm also slightly disgusted that 11 people said none...

That was a harder decision than I thought. I have to go with My Neighbor Totoro as it always makes me feel good when I am down. Also the only film I know of that basically gets away with being about watching children play.

Just one of my favorite movies ever, I have already re-watched it so many times. Its so beautiful and I just love how the relationship grows between Sopie and Howl. I love all his movies though 8D
