I'm pretty sure that most members here are here because they have read and fallen in love with the manga.
But hey, I'm always curious so I decided to make a poll to see how many members have read the manga, seen the OVA, or done both.
As for something more to discuss about, well... which did you like the most?
The manga or the OVA?
What did you like more about either of them?
What did you like less?
Go on and start comparing.

(( PS. I'm a bad club owner who hasn't even seen the OVA yet. ;__; ))

I said both! It's so hard to choose between the manga and the OVA. I like the manga more because everything is in much fuller detail than the OVA... but I like the OVA more because the manga is too long and drawn out... -_-;
Definitely both.

Manga, cause I like many details. Some angels are really well made and sometimes I stare at them really long - in ova they dissapear too fast ;).
Oh, and manga is longer, way longer, more things, more magic atmosphere. I prefer longer ;). I can't wait to complete all toms.

Manga, manga, manga! First, much details, much characters and the line is better. ;3 OVA is finished in about 2 volumes. In volume 3 action is beginning and it's better.

I haven't seen the OVA yet, but I think the manga's better.
Can't tell why, just a feeling ._.
But I'm going to see the OVA soon and then I eventually write more and vote =)

(Sorry for my bad english ._.)

I haven't seen the OVA just like Tieria, but I heard about it from my friend who only watched the OVA and haven't read the manga. And from her I got the impression that the OVA is not that well made the realtionships between the characters and also the characterdevelopement is lacking. So I'm not that interested in watching it...

@Tieria: I think your english is pretty good. And in my opinion you rather write something even if it's not perfectly correct grammatically then writing nothing...There's no point in reading forums if you don't answer! At least that's my opinion as a fellow member whose english is not that correct at all!XDD

I prefer the manga because you get the whole story. The OVA ended far too early, and the fact that it ended on a cliffhanger was annoying.

Both.

I first became interested in the series after seeing some AMVs, but after reading up on it I knew the manga was a better way to go first to get the whole story, so that's where I started. I didn't finally watch the OVA until a couple of years ago.

The big problem I have with the OVA is it's length of course, or lack thereof. The there's the switching around of events and the removal of important characters. My dream of a full series will probably never happen though, so it's better than nothing.

One word. The manga!

I've never seen the OVA just yet, and likely never will due to the fact I cannot find it anywhere. But in my experiance, and from what I've read about it, the manga seems better to me. It had the detail, the full length of story, the backgrounds of character, and looked a whole lot better.

I'll probably get around to it once I find the darn thing. But the manga will, in all likelihood, stay number one to me.

I became interested in the series after I seen a few pages of one chapter somewhere ( don't remember where), and then followed through with reading it some months later.

@TimeChaser: Yeah, I highly doubt we will ever get a full series of it. That would be awesome! But it happens with every good series, and we're probably lucky to even gotten the manga finished. Lol. I've seen that happen before( I.e Mx0).

OVA was fine, but I really prefer manga. Anime was too short, ended in a open way and manga continues on the whole story, shows many interesting plot twists (plus, there are more wonderful characters, of course). But what I wrote is so obvious ;).

Manga definately.

Not only massively longer and more detailed, but the first few chapters actually told you why it's called Angel Sanctuary and they skipped that part. -_-

The manga is superior, but I have a pretty messed up history with the OVA. I watched it a long time ago, had no idea the manga existed, and kept going to the Angel Sanctuary official movie website waiting for an update on a volume 2. This went on for at least two years, and I thought the show was cancelled. Then about four years later, I discovered the manga, thanks to Nagara_Venteel (profile plug), read it, and it became one of the best titles I've ever read.
I really actually like the OVA in a cheesy, classic-style mini series that works as a great trailer for the manga. At the point this was made, there were not many TV series in the States, but I thought this one would've been fairly decent, nothing compared to the mood the manga counterpart delivers.

Of course the manga! The artwork and atmosphere are superior! I'm not happy with the OVA... since they bothered to make an animated version, why not do it properly and adapt the Manga into an Anime?
I don't understand why it's said that an Anime adaption would be not possible...:(
