Wait a sec, not only does Chiyo wake up early in the morning at 6:27 am, she's the one who cooks and then subsequently wakes up her parents?! It seems to me that she's the adult in her household. Crazy. But also shows how Chiyo is a genuinely great person.

This was the first time we saw Chiyo's grade school friends. I'm glad she's still friends with them. And that her friends just see her as normal and don't seem to have any weird perception about her. Just goes to how nice Chiyo is even more. I also think Chiyo walking to school with Sakaki is cute. One is really tall and one is really short. If someone saw the two together in their uniforms they'd probably think they were cosplayers or something lol.

Man, Tomo and Yomi's interactions are always funny. Yukari-chan being late to school because of a video game release is hilarious. I wonder if the game that Kagura was playing at the end was the same game Yukari was so desperately trying to buy?

The rope skipping scene was so wholesome. Tomo and the others crashing it made it even better.

This was such an interesting episode. I'm kinda relieved this was a relatively normal episode featuring Chiyo's daily life. I was low-key expecting something weird to happen at some point. Glad it didn't. I wish every other main character have their own this style of episode. Tho I suppose Sakaki kinda already got 2 episodes focusing on her. The fact she didn't really monologue in them like Chiyo did was true to her character too.

Now, the ending of this episode was quite something. We saw how each of the girls spent their nights before going to bed. Nowadays I think most people just scroll their phones while in bed before falling asleep, including me. But this episode made me remember the time I used to do other things before going to bed. Most of the time I'd just spend it trying to finish whatever game I bought from the store last week, before getting tired, saving and going to bed. Other times just watching whatever was on TV or reading a random book or magazine. Or finishing the homework that I forgot to do before. I'm part of probably the last generation that remembers what life was like before it was overtaken by the internet. I probably sound like a geezer, but I wonder if most people of later gens like gen alpha and gen beta will like this anime much because they probably won't find it very relatable. And it kinda makes me feel weird. Of course, I watched a lot of anime that were from well before my time and loved them. But it's not like there were many people like me who were giving old anime a chance. So I think there aren't that many people like me out there.

I'm not sure where I was going with this. Ig I just wanna say that this episode made me feel nostalgic even tho it came out when I was very little. There hasn't been a single episode of this series yet that didn't make me smile. Azumanga Daioh is special.

Chiyo-chan is so cuuuuuuuuuuuuute! CUUUUUUUUUUUUTTTTTEEEEE!
I love the whole cast but I love Chiyo the most, each frame of her is a delight in how small and adorable she is drawn and animated.
She does her best and I just want to her go grow tall and find happiness.

Great episode. I really liked how the showed both Chiyo's urge to be older and to remain a child as well. It's very relatable: when you're young you want to be an adult, but once you become an adult, you miss being a kid. Very clever!
@zion111 cleaver indeed and i really like how the others, especially Sekaki undertood and decided to play jump rope with Chiyo - Sekaki best girl
Uhhhhh...I like anime XD.

An entire episode about Chiyo, it's just the world from her perspective, from the perspective of the youngest person in the institute.

To be honest I find Chiyo kinda boring, this episode was just about nostalgia and desires. Sakaki had some screentime at least and everyone had a good time remembering the old days while jumping the rope, that was the only good part because overall is a boring episode.
