Just watched these:

W.: I found it to be quite boring. I really wanted to like it, but it just moved too slow for me.

RocknRolla: Awesome, but I was drinking when I watched it, so I don't remember too much other than it made me laugh.

Uzumaki: WORST ADAPTATION EVER.

Old Boy: It was good, but I still prefer the manga (heresy, I know...)

Pinapple Express: One of the best stoner movies I've seen. Love Seth Rogen!

Hey, just pray to all things holy that Old Boy doesn't get remade over here by Steven Spielberg. And guess who the star will be if he does it? Will Smith, I'm sorry but I cannot see a good American rendition of Old Boy, espiecially if that redition has Will Smith playing that main character.

Can I get a hell no?

Hell maybe! I know its gonna be crap, and probably won't even get made, but I love Will Smith, so I'd end up paying cash money to see it in theaters.

The rumor isn't much of a rumor, it has actually been confirmed by both Will Smith and Steven Spielberg. I personally hope that they don't get the liscense but saying how big-name they are, they probably will. Anyway, it appeared sometime around July this year and although I haven't seen anymore news on it, it's safe to bet that it's in pre-production right now.

Just watched Dead Man, mid 90's black and white western by Jim Jarmusch starring Johnny Depp. If you're looking for a film with great cinematography this is the go, a simply beautiful shot of Depp spooning a dead faun in there(watch the film :P), but seriously, some well thought out shots. My favorite performances of the film where definitely Billy Bob Thornton, Iggy Pop and this other guy who I've seen in other films but can't remember his name, anyway their role as a wandering insane/moronic trio is gold, if a little short lived. Very good watch, with one of the most compelling arguments for taking up smoking I've heard, or to at least carry tobacco around with you at all times when traveling.

Takashi Miike's Black Society Trilogy
A set of three standalone movies directed by Miike, all involving yakuza/triad trouble, family, and alienation.

-Shinjuku Triad Society
Cool movie. Stylish with plenty of action.
-Rainy Dog
Really sad, especially the ending. I found it a bit unnecessary, although I think some of the last lines were referenced in Kill Bill. Loved the rain and the awkward sort of family formed by the characters. Sho Aikawa rules.
-Ley Lines
My favorite of the three. It moved me the most emotionally. Also really sad, but with a lesser degree of utter depression that didn't suffocate me. Ending was excellent.

Sukiyaki Western Django
Would have been awesome if it were in Japanese. I don't know where the decision to make the entire Japanese cast speak in "Engrish" came from. The acting noticeably suffered and it was a major distraction. This one flaw alone ruined the movie for me. I liked the guns and swords and action and odd visual style and Quentin Tarantino's appearance, but this all went to waste.

Palermo Shooting 8/10 latest Win Wanders movie, odd movie that is...
Slumdog Millionaire 9/10 great movie, must see
Coffee and Cigarettes 8/10 collection of black and white sketches, where the actors play themselves.
Vals Im Bashir 8/10 this is a movie impossible without animation as the final 5 minutes prove it.
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button 9/10 great directing and acting with original story, although the movie is extremely heavy.

I saw a trailer for this months ago. Nice to know its out now!

Last weekend I saw:
Watchmen, which was good even with the deviations from the GN. It was kind of akward going with my bf though. Everytime Dr. Manhattan came on screen, he just gave me this look like "How much penis is in this movie?!"-- 8/10

Eagle Eye, which could have been good if they didn't have such a retarded twist...7/10

Burn After Reading- I didn't like it. It was fine up until the last 30 mins or so, then it just got bad. 2/5.

Rocknrolla- A little slow at first, but then it picks up. It was funny at parts and entertaining. 4/5.

The Big Lebowski- The last 30 mins were funny and there was a funny part in the beginning. Other than that, I didn't like the film much. 2.5/5.

Duplicity - Ehh, I tried to like this movie, especially because it was so hghiyl rated on metacritic, but I disliked it. I thought that the script and character interactions between the two protagonists were awkward, the music was good, the plot was intricate and good, although the ending was bad. It tried to be a plot-twist like ending, but seemed kinda half-assed. The exposition for the ending was awkward, as all the character started explaining their plan and motives in detail all of a sudden. Not very enjoyable and the people I was watching this with were even harsher. 4/10

I just don't like that type of comedy I guess. Teh Big Lebowski was just weird, not weird funny, just weird. And I hated the ending for Burn After Reading, I though it sucked hardcore.

BAR was kind of limp dick'd. And I agree about the ending.

Lebowski was classic cinema. A clever twist on the film noir genre.

I just finished Throne of Blood. Which was Kurosawa's adaptation of MacBeth. I went in with high expectations since Yojimbo was so badass and MacBeth is my favorite Shakespeare play. For the most part it met my expectations. Mifune was pretty good in the lead, it's just I've seen him better in other films (he seemed to go through the film with a perma scowl). The direction was faultless, some scenes were just awe inspiring. The change at the end from the source material was okay with and I thought worked very well. Reminded me of Scarface. If you're a MacBeth or Kurosawa fan check it out. Even if you're not still check it out.

Overall great movie.

Then saw 2 other movies over the weekend. This is Spinal Tap was an extremely funny movie, 7/10. And Scarface was also a good movie, but not as good as it was hyped to be. 6/10

lol, I paid to see it in the theater, and you know what? I had fun. I enjoyed it. I hate it now, but it was entertaining for a while. I guess they made it to appeal to the weird-cat-ladies in training, because it certainly didn't remind me of the Catwoman I know and love.

The Escapist, great film. The cast was superb, with Cox in the lead there's no way it could fail. His acting here is great, and just like in last year's underappreciated Red he utlizes subtle bits of dialogue and low key gestures to reveal the true worth of his character. The prison scenes were reminiscent of Oz, but the characters were unique which helps set it stand apart. By interspersing scenes of the escape with the planning was a stroke of genius and can be greater appreciated at the end reveal which may prompt a second viewing.

Observe and Report was pretty damn funny and pretty damn dark. Never been a fan of Rogen (only seen him in one movie), but here he adopts a cold crazed edge that is not seen in most comedies. Definetly a memorable performance that'll stick with the viewer. There is a lot of violence and penis, but there ain't nothing wrong with that. Props to going all out.

Ha, saw kung fu dunk. Don't bother (although some parts work well). Watch Kung Fu Hustle, Shaolin Soccer or (even better) King of Beggars instead.

Also watched Repo: the genetic opera, mixed feelings. I'll have to re-watch it, because I'm still a little skeptical on musicals...but it was still kinda enjoyable, despite the characters being so standard; father tries to protect daughter who's 'sick', a 'friendly' uncle who wants to set her free, siblings quarreling over a sizable inheritance, a random guy who knows the evil world and revels in it. Some sorrow, some death, a bit of black humor. Give it a go I suppose.

Just saw Singin' In The Rain on TV. Poking fun of Hollywood, great musical numbers, great acting, etc etc all heard before. But it's not like it's without it's flaws, but it's a classic and so influential. 7/10
Also saw On the Bridge of the River Kwai, only things I remember from it is that it had good cinematography and a thrilling climax. 7/10. Rewatched 5 Centimeters Per Second and started noticing all the crappy things of it. A generous 5/10. And saw all those short films that were Emmy-nominated, (Auf der Strecke, Toyland, etc etc) and they all were OK, were in the 4-6 range. Also saw Swing Time, it had beautiful dances, good but forgettable music, and a tacky ending. Liked it less than Singin' in the Rain. 6/10.
And one final addition, just saw The Untouchables. Didn't like it at all. Thought it was sentimental and sappy, poor dialogue and direction at times and poorly written at times as well. 3/10.

I last saw Dragonball Evolution. Don't worry, I didn't pay for it.

In all seriousness, it's an okay movie. It does a great job of creatively butchering the story we all know so well.... but it does a great job at it. To be honest, if you knew nothing about Dragonball and you went and watched the movie, you'd probably enjoy it a good bit.

But everybody knows Dragonball, so the fact that the story isn't the same highly disturbs most fans. At the same time, though, I'm someone who can find something good to say about any movie.

And there's truth enough in that, isn't it? You can always find something done right in any movie, no matter how bad.

It was great seeing Paul Walker and Vin Diesel again, but I have to say that I still really like Tokyo Drift the best out of all of the Fast and Furious movies still. I've never been a big fan of Peter Sellers, outside of Dr. Strangelove most of his movies haven't interested me. Today, however, I saw Being There which has given me newfound respect for the actor. In a wonderfully bland performance, Sellers is funnier than in any of his Pink Panther movies. I also loved Being There for how it poked fun at he stupidity of society. Great film.

Crank: High Voltage ... wow. They took everything in the first movie and totally one-upped it. Everything is to the extreme and I'm fairly sure that when Jason Stathum isn't knocked out, which is only the first few minutes of the movie, he is constantly moving nonstop. It's actually pretty ridiculous but well worth paying for if you enjoyed the first one or action movies in general. And the fact that this is one action movie that doesn't take itself seriously at all helps, because if it did try to be serious it would probably suck.

I gave it an 8/10 just for the sheer fun of it.
