MenchiK1 said: ?? This show has some of the best animation this season... Mmm, NIMO. It's not bad, but they cheat the fights noticeably. And the way they made sure the carriage had curtains to avoid animating backgrounds was pretty blatant. Tojima Wants to Be a Kamen Rider handles semi-comedic battles better, as does Sanda, not to mention Gachiakuta (though technically that's a continuation of the previous season.) But I'm still enjoying this. It's worth watching both the subs and dub - some of the dub ad-libs are pretty clever. "Don't make me get the pear!" (Ancient torture device) |

Episode 7 It was a dangerous situation, but Diana made it out of the city to begin her pilgrimage after Scarlet kicked some inquisitor ass and Leonardo saved Diana from falling. Afterwards, Scarlet and Leonardo accompany Diana on their pilgrimage seeing that while only those embarking on the pilgrimage know the itinerary, it's possible there's a traitor among them. Then Diana falls in love with Scarlet's brother as she and the pilgrimage gang stops in Memphis on the eastern border of Pallistan. They enjoy the hot springs and the festival there, though a bunch of thugs near were causing mischief by breaking a bunch of vases before getting an ass kicking by Scarlet. While that's going on, some Palmian priest asks for a favor from Alflamme. Pretty interesting couple that Diana and Leonardo are there, all while it looks like Scarlet was right to accompany Diana on her pilgrimage as even though she was supposed to be doing this in secret, somebody from the Palmians has caught on.

So why is this European-style society having a Japanese festival? I know, the creators are more worried about checking off the popular tropes, but it's still jarring.

@RMikami It was rather odd, she mentioned something about the town's customs (they are away from their home remember started out with the hot spring) but obviously just an excuse to do a Japanese festival.

I got back at episode 4, and I'm greatly disappointed that it's still the same dang routine. Even more so when I saw the villainess using a cheap hypnotism spell-- that would just make things very boring when she- presumably- mind control Scarlett's allies, which is very likely the prince. I don't know. I'm still curious about the Isekai aspect of the villainess so, maybe I'll try it in English Dub to make it easier to watch until I get to that part. | Episode 8 Terenezza is back, and she's a lot smarter than she looks. It turns out that she charmed Kyle into turning on Diana with her special power, and uses her power to charm the men at Snowind who has turned their allegiance to Terenezza as the saint. And she's the one who stole Diana's blessing for herself, using that to block Scarlet's punch. And there's also a traitor among the soldiers as Dios is an undercover inquisitor for Palmia. After that defeat, Scarlet makes a visit to the god of time Chronoa and is told the truth about Terenezza as she's a vessel made from Palmia. But she can't make a soul, so she grabbed one from Japan to inhabit the vessel, which is that girl from Japan. And after that, Scarlet gets an upgrade and is raring to go again. This goes to show just how cunning Terenezza is and that she's targeting Scarlet to make sure everything near and dear to her is destroyed. |

Episode 9 As it turns out, Diana was just an ordinary village girl named Sanya, but seven years ago she was given the blessing and magical powers of the Saint Diana. But that blessing became a curse as she had to live as the Saint after the previous one just passed away. While Scarlet is out, Nanaka gathers intel and learns that the Palmian cult is growing their alliance and Vankish is among them having been empowered by Terenezza and Diana's stolen powers. And then Dios tries to sneak up on Scarlet to kill her, but Scarlet wakes up just in time to deliver him a knuckle sandwich out of town. While that's going on, Julius meets up with Jinn, one of the dragoon warriors and Alflame's trusted partner as he's working undercover, and they become allies to fight back against the Palmians. And Dios tries to escape, but Scarlet is right on top of things, and it is revealed that Dios is a half-elf and Diana's half-brother. Lots of stuff gets revealed here about Diana/Sanya as there's lots of bad blood going on between Diana and Palmia.

I've never been a big fan of left field twists. However, it's one that makes sense with what we know and learn of Sanya. Dios, on the other hand, sheesh. I get it was a quick way to establish he wasn't a "bad guy", but it was painful to watch. Now that Scarlet is back and better than ever let the beatings recommence!

Episode 10 After learning the truth about the situation, it's back to the drawing board as Snowind is evacuated and everybody returns to the capital with Pallistan about to be invaded. While Alflame is not exactly trustworthy, he's one of the good guys as he has been secretly helping Pallistan. While he has gathered a number of dragon knights, their manpower is only a fraction of what is needed, all while there are monsters on top of that. But they have a path to victory by negotiating with Falconia knowing that they are a peaceful nation who was probably instigated. So after strategizing, the plan is put into action with Scarlet beating up on some orcs. But the leader is quite tricky to deal with as the orc is able to move his face inside his blubbery body as there's no question Terenezza powered him up. However, that works into Scarlet's plan seeing that it gives her a chance to enjoy beating him home. While things seem to be going well, unfortunately negotiations with Falconia are at a standstill, so that strategy goes out the window if things stand as they are. Lot's of strategy and stuff here, but once again it gives Scarlet the opportunity to do what she wants more than anything.

Episode 11 Alflame sure made quite flashy arrival on the battlefield there to clear a path for Nanaka and Dios. And there, the two fight each other, but before that they get get attacked by the Falconia citizens who have been manipulated by Terenezza. But in comes the chieftain to quell the situation, though he did it as part of his scouting mission. Dios offers his wind magic to the chieftain in exchange for calling off the attack, which he agrees to. After that, Alflame offers Scarlet asylum to Vankish, but Scarlet is committed to serving Pallistan. With that, the battle is over for now, but it's only a matter of time before Terenezza strikes again in Sahasgila. While they have time since Terenezza needs three days to recharge after destroying Snowind's gem, Terenezza is still armed and dangerous after just one day as Scarlet is about to find out. While things weren't exactly smooth sailing, they bought themselves some time to get things in order knowing how dire the situation is.

(Episode 6-8) Looks like I stopped at the wrong time. Things been interesting since the pilgrimage stuff. So Terenezza was indeed an Isekai entity after all. Not in the usual manner though-- Palmia basically killed her to take her soul. I'm a bit bummed that they immediately showed her having weaknesses, panicking and all that. But at least they made her cunning and provocative. Leo really finally got rewarded for all the headache Scarlett and Prince Julius brings to him xD Glad I got back to this. I'mma watch the rest of the episodes later.

(Episodes 9-11) The title of the upcoming episode seem to imply that Scarlett is gonna get to punch someone she's been really wanting to for a very long while. Either that's Terenezza... or the charmed Prince. xD This is likely getting another, if not more seasons. They just did some late game world-building, introducing lots of different factions and locations. Not to mention, Alflame already brought up the throne inheritance dispute, and there's also a vague situation among the Elves involving Dios' mom. I doubt Terenezza would just easily vanish-- she's an asset, marketing and merch-wise xD Maybe she'll get captured and have a realization arc next season, and get helped by Scarlett in getting back to her real world. Or maybe she does get a Scarlett beat down, then be disposed by Palmia, replacing her with a charmed Julius. And, at this point, I wouldn't rule out a possibility of an antagonistic twist with Julius.

Episode 12 It's off to Sahasgila for the final stop in the pilgrimage for Diana and for Scarlet to lay the smack down on Terenezza. And knowing that Palmian forces have already mobilized that they came prepared for the traps and stuff. Michelin wields some strong magic, but good old air pressure that Scarlet has mastered control of will take care of him. While Michelin has the numbers and has a spell that can slow everybody else down, that's nothing Diana's powers can't handle and once Scarlet got them back, the tables quickly turned as a few men and a fully powered Saint are more than enough to take those grunts down. Then there's Julius battling the inquisitor leader, and while he fought pretty sloppily for somebody in such a position, it was all part of his scheme to tear open a hole to unleash a charming spell on Julius. And then there's Scarlet against Terenezza as she holds nothing back in pummeling Palmia's extension of herself, but the charm spell has turned Julius into her own lover hoping that Scarlet wouldn't lay the smack against somebody she loves, but that didn't stop her at all. Terenezza used charm on Kyle as well, so she's very tricky to deal with, all just to rub it into Scarlet as it has become a proxy war between Diana and Palmia. One more episode left as Terenezza has been quite tricky to deal with, but Scarlet won't hold back when Terenezza doesn't.

It was so obvious that the episode title was intended for Julius. Did she even know if the prince's body could handle going through multiple thick walls xD A bit bummed that the other fights went by quick; barely even showcased, but at least both served purposes: Getting Julius charmed by Terenezza, and showing Diana's powers coming back to her. One more episode, hopefully, for that one Terenezza beatdown of a lifetime. xD

Episode 13 (Finale) With Julius under Terenezza's control, Scarlet ends up surrendering to her as Terenezza is out to steal Scarlet's blessing, as well as Julius as he has the Heroic Tale blessing, which only goes into effect when the one he loves is in danger. While Scarlet insists she doesn't love Julius, Scarlet confesses mainly to activate Heroic Tale. And with that, Terenezza's spell is broken and Scarlet fights back, which has Terenezza in a panic seeing that she insists that she's the MC in this story when she really isn't. And after that, Scarlet delivers the finishing blow with a mean uppercut. And after that, the Palmian cult is dissolved and everything is restored with Diana revealing herself as the saint. But it's not exactly all well and good as Scarlet realized Julius fell in love with Scarlet only to activate his blessing. And then Julius asks for one final thing, but actually asks for two things that has Scarlet asking for one final thing herself, which is to give Julius a knuckle to the face. That was a pretty funny ending there seeing Scarlet not messing around with those who cheat her as Julius did. It was a fun way to go out here as it was definitely a refreshing new take of a fantasy show. Final Thoughts This is another one of those fantasy shows which ends up being an unexpected isekai, but it is a breath of fresh air from the typical fantasy shows. The show does a nice job with adventure, drama, comedy, and action all tied into one. The characters are a fun bunch, while having a crude MC with the villainess being an isekaied character is a nice change of pace from the typical isekai shows. The show had some production issues, all while Scarlet's antics can get annoying at times, but for the most part it was entertaining from start to finish. It definitely is one of the better shows this season as there was a lot of creativity in this show that made it stand out. Grade: B+ (8/10)

Very satisfying finale. Whether this gets a sequel or not, that ending for this season works. The way they utilize 'Heroic Tale' to make the cliche "true love unlocks the power" feel unique was quite effective. Not to mention, the in-denial heroine of the story having to admit her feelings towards the prince that way really does feel like a new approach to it. I don't usually easily appreciate romantic setup but, that moment they had within the Terraneza's spell with glowing light, that was a very fitting romantic moment for the two; Not flowery, nothing exaggerated, just simply special. That moment of realization for Scarlett with her going "... ah." really got me. xD And Naraka being there to witness it up close just added to it. 8/10. I considered an 8.5 but, the show was really far from clean-- It got too redundant early on, which got me to put it on-hold. But I greatly appreciate it for having a unique approach to a Princess-led story, and having a reversed Isekai situation with the villain being the Isekai'd character. And of course, the entertainment provided by Scarlet's beautiful madness. That Chico and HoneyWorks OP theme really fits too. Won't mind more of this; Glad I picked it back up.

I thoroughly enjoyed this, Scarlet was a great character. The plot wasn't anything deep or involved but worked perfectly for a 12 episode show. It didn't try to be something it wasn't, did what it did well and didn't try to overachieve. It was a fun twist on a sub-genre that was getting kinda stale. 7/10

This had everything I'm looking for in a fantasy isekai show. It still has room for improvement, but I liked the main character, the art and animation, the music, the humor and the plot. I just wish they had done a better job with the villains outside of Terenezza. 8/10
