| "edgy" has lost all meaning. it's thrown around so much that it's basically serious moment=edgy a drip of blood=edgy crazy smile=edgy if I were to brand something as edgy, it'd be kill la kill and similar shows that TRY being cool but dance back, playing it off as a joke. |

| Edgy didn't used to have a negative connotation. "Factually edgy", for lack of a better term, are shows like Death Note and Devilman Crybaby. These are bold, unconventional and thematically provoking to the viewer. Although, I assume you mean the deviated/modernised definition of the word. These are shows that tries to tackle mature and complex themes, but fails horrendously in its' execution. Akame Ga Kill and The Future Diary are examples of this. |
