| I also found it pretty boring at first and the jokes were not the best either (with some exception) but it gets better and better (both story and comedy-wise). I started getting invested around 50-smth eps and the first serious arc is not the best but it is pretty good. The humor is still not for everyone probably but it isn't just poop jokes and nose picking and stuff like that. Btw maybe you could watch some of the funniest comedy arcs to see if you like the humor. Do not watch only the serious arcs bc I don't think they would be enjoyable that way. You need to know the background stuff and care about the characters to truly enjoy them. Besides in my opinion Gintama truly shines in comedy still though it has some really good emotional and some really intense moments too. |

Yes Comedy is subjective but if i can judge everything else Drawing Quality, Voice Acting, Drama or other genres exist in Gintama then i can easily say Gintama is overrated. Most people who start Gintama drops it in first 20 episodes anyway, you can check the statistics. Only reason Gintama and new seasons has this high score because people drops it. |

You don’t really get the jokes ig. You have bad sense of humour. There are viewers for it. We all got diff taste and Gintama deserves more tbh . One more thing , when the anime gets serious , it comparable to big3 and usually even better than them. It’s genre is adventure, comedy , gore, horror, vampire, psychological,alien, historical,samurai, action, slice of life, parody, shounen, shojo, drama, fantasy , romance, supernatural, cross dressing, martial arts, crime , police, music ,school, space , time travel , f I can’t remember any more genres. @Richard_drizzle Bruh, its funny. No matter, how bad my mood is, i just start watching some random ep of gintama. It literally has everything there is. I get it, most people dont like gag humor, etc, so they might not watch it, but its definately worth a shot. It aint just a comedy show tho. It has serious arc that got me hooked to it. There are life lessons and philosphical stuff too. Gintoki is an inspirational charecter, and yeah he's relatable too. Tis all seems meaningless or crap, until you've seen it for yourself. Its the kind of show, i'd lose my memories for, to rewatch it.

@Richard_drizzle lol. Why are you forcing yourself to you it then? Btw ik, i got a bit unbearable, but after s2 i hope you wouldnt have the same issue. The seasons get shorter, and they dont do much shit like they used to, with those wierd arcs with those crappy plot. Rest is upto you.
| @FinsengEsog yea i really wanted to like gintama there definitely where some episodes that had me emotional, but the ratio is so off idk how the seasons are handled is the original 200 episodes just one season or many lol it always bothered me that you get like 3-5 episodes of some serious interesting shit then 20 episodes of unfunny nonsense following it. |
