Yeah, the majority of bullies I encountered were charismatic and popular people.

If they weren't charismatic and popular, then they won't be able to keep up a campaign of violence against anyone for long. Without charisma and popularity, any violent act will likely be exposed right from the get go and the culprit will face opposition from the student body and teachers.

I remember how a middle-school teacher sided with my bully against me. She's very good at telling lies. That is to say, lying to herself. She managed to convince herself that she sided with my bully NOT because he's charismatic and better-looking than me but that somehow I was the one at fault for getting on his bad side. Hah.

And that's the thing. Victim blaming is so easy. During one interview, I was asked questions like "Why were you at that place in the first place" and "Why did you get close to him in the first place?" and "Did you say anything to provoke him?".

Why didn't she just admit that her theory was that attractive people are all good? Of course she couldn't. She would look stupid in front of her superiors and the parents. So she shifted part of the blame to me.

"I am not saying xxx was blameless in this affair but you should take care of your own conduct blah blah blah..."

I was bullied in middle school for some time. But before I've entered high school I've learnt to stand up for myself so I don't think anyone would want to start something with me.

This is exactly what they asked me. It's sad to see how repetitive it is.

In my experience people don't easily excuse asshole behavior. However, they will let it slide if the person doing it is attractive and popular enough. That's why some guys sexually harass women and get away with it. That's why we think it's cruel to beat up the bullies.

I was bullied before in middle school. One day I finally snapped and broke the kids arm and jaw. Got sent to a private school haha. When I look back at it, I feel just a little bit bad about it, but they shouldn't have destroyed my 3 week worked on science project.

Honestly, bullies bully because something pushes them to, whether it be family problems, etc. There are two sides to a coin. I met the kid 8 years later and found out his family was going through a bad time, and we eventually became friends.

Now though I immediately throw a Tyrant Rave when I see a bully picking on people haha.

So my answer is....... Yes, but if it makes them stop and realize what they are doing is not the answer.
