I'm at 49 completed. I might watch Code Geass R2 Picture Drama, but I probably won't like it so maybe I should watch 5 centimeters instead.

@metamorphius: it's fun that i have watched almost as many series as you, but you have a lot more time spent on anime xD 100 hours... you're almost there, go for it!
@JusticeUndone: same for you, you have watched 1/3 of my anime and our time on anime is almost the same :D it was Durarara, but they became 301 almost instantly because of the specials xD
@Lotus97: 1 more to go! *o*

The secret is i watch every little silly special they release, so every series+specials+ova counts as 3, lol. Well, if i were to add the series i watched on tv as a kid (most notably fist of the north star and all of Dragon Ball, plus a lot of other old ones i don't even remember, lol) my time on anime would skyrocket (645 episodes, 215 hours just for those two), but my list here is only for anime i have on HD in original language, so i'm happy i have this "much" ^w^

Specials are very often just fanservice anyway, so I usually don't watch them (unless it's an anime I really like). And those picture dramas are as 'interesting' as drama CDs (or whatever they're called).

@Justice
My suggestion is to go with a movie for your 100th anime.

@catpaw
Yeah, it's interesting. Of course, that's because I have some fairly long anime on my list. Though nowadays I prefer shorter anime (up to 26 episodes at most).
I think it'll take some time till I reach 100 days cuz I'm not watching as much anime as I used to.

@Lotus97: that's right but i watch specials and OVAs because i like them, i don't mind the fancervice :)
Picture dramas are rarely interesting and i only watch them because i'm a completionist and i'm afraid i could miss the only good one xD this is probably because they're targeted at ultra-fans of the show, since they come with those expensive dvd/bd. Anyone spending so much will almost certainly like whatever little bonus they can get.

@metamorphius: i lost interest in pure shounen a long time ago, so no more endless shows for me too :3

@Corsair857: congratulations ^^

By fanservice do you mean boobies?

Yeah, me too, although I still keep on watching some of them.

@Lotus
No, I don't necessarily mean boobs (and 'pantsu' and other similar stuff), I just mean material that is intentionally made to please fans of an anime. That's why I say I watch such stuff only if I'm a fan of the parent anime.

@Lotus97: yay, metamorphius is right. There are many kinds of fanservice, such as out of character situations, improbable pairings, mini-comedies with chibi protagonists and even allusions or jokes to facts happened in a seiyu's real life (the reference to Mamiko Noto "drunk incident" in TAMI specials was totally awesome).

Fanservice is one of the most controversial aspects of anime. I personally like it, because usually portraits the show in a comedic manner and i'm not disturbed by ecchi at all.
To be honest, now i'm really restraining myself not to sound like a pervert, otherwise i would start enthusiastically explaining you the most frequent visual fanservice themes xD

So the omake at the end of each Bleach episode is also "fan service"?

I didn't watch the show personally so i can't judge, but i just watched a random two from youtube and it could be considered comedic fanservice.
Just one thing, i suggest you not to go around calling it fanservice though, since the word bears a negative connotation (and 99% of times means "boobies" like you said) and i think most fans would rage at you. Also an omake is almost always comedic in nature, so just calling them by their name implies that content and saying "fanservice omake" is pleonastic in a way.

I remembered another thing: detailed, beautifully drawn fights (mecha, swords) are considered fanservice, but everyone watches action anime for the fights, so it's never called that.
To sum things up, i consider this another word like "otaku" that got its true meaning somehow modified, this time acquiring a negative connotation, hence different people use it in different ways. The main concept i was trying to explain is that not all fanservice is necessarily a bad thing imho, so don't skip a show just because people say "it's full of fanservice".

def agree!! That's what they were saying for many shows, like Kuroshitsuji too and I watched it and loved it!! So I depends on every individual. So all in all don't pay too much attention to what people say. ;P

Yeah, as Catpaw said, it could be considered fanservice. Well, he nicely explained everything so I have nothing to add.
And it's totally true that the original meaning of the word has been corrupted and nowadays people usually use it to refer solely to boobies and co.

Speaking of which, I don't like it when Western anime watchers who have seen a dozen of highly popular anime proclaim themselves otaku. It makes me wanna weep!

@metamorphius: you totally have a point, i can't stand that too! And "incidentally" they're all kids ^^ that's why i'm so glad i found 20+!
The saddest thing is that i sometimes find myself disliking shows due to this before watching them. For example it took me more than 3 years to change my mind and watch Code Geass and i still haven't watched Lucky Star. At the moment this sad record goes to magi-guro-madoka, reading "most innovative/best animu evear, im graetest otaku cuz imma watchan it" (sic) from people who have no idea of what Bokurano and Shadow Star Narutaru are broke my heart.
Whenever i read such sentences i get goose bumps. Unless the one writing them is joking :3

Hahah, that's true.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I look down on people who don't have a lot of experience with anime calling themselves otaku, I'm saying I get annoyed at them proudly waving with the term that has utterly negative connotations in Japan as if it's the best friggin compliment.

Yes, fandom (or should I say fandumb) can make you dislike/be biased against a certain anime. I try to never judge anime by their fanbase, but that can be difficult sometimes.

So I've been trolling the Code Geass R2 Episode 25 discussion for the past week since I finished the series. I'm on page 21 and there are 53 (!) pages. I guess I just miss the series more than I thought I was. Already deleted all the video files because I didn't think I was going to rewatch it, but now I kind of regret doing that.

Haa, there was many new beers on the shelf in the liquor store near me. It's been a while since I have bought some quality beers, I wish I would have more money at my disposal but I'm a poor student ;__;

Anyways, just drank Robinson's Old Tom and aah, it was good. It had kinda sweet flavor, maybe I tasted a little bit of coffee in it. And although it was kinda strong for a beer (8,5%) the taste of alcohol didn't push through too much.

Guess I'll save other beers for later, gotta get some work done.

Any other beer lovers in da club? :)

KALJAAA, yes please :D Baltika and Heineken are good beer brands indeed. I also like flavoured beers like Belgium cherry beer (not remember the brand right now, but you can buy it from Alko anyway :D) and Austrian radler beer is good too. About the original beers I prefer Karhu or Koff since I'm from Kerava \o/ Then Karjala and Saku are ok too.

Yeah it could be very dangerous to pilot a jet pack while drunk.

Haha, not surprised about that fact either. I'm going to St. Pete on March. I'll work as a travel leader to a group there. I haven't ever been to Viipuri, like it was called back then. I've heard that there's still some Finnish stuff in the old town. I really hate that you have to get a visa to Russia.

here's something that pisses me off, one of my friends was in a bad wreck the other night and is barely hanging on. And when I sign into facebook I see ppl that havnt talked to him in 5+ years and that didnt really know him in school posting stuff like "my good friend is in trouble this. Or my friend that". I get so pissed because they're using his accident to make ppl feel sorry for them. Like a few years ago another guy I played football w was murdered and this girl that had nothing to do w him was telling everybody "oh, my best friend died."...and using it to get get ppl to feel bad for her. I told to her when I ran into her to stfu and quit using my bros death.

I'm seeing it again now though and its pissing me off
