I started reading skip beat about two years ago, I saw the anime first then read the manga. Silly me!! Back the. I thought two years should be enough to go back and continue reading, because surly it must have ended. WRONG!
I can’t believe that the original post was 9 years ago! I’m chocked
I can not wait to know how the story will end. It’s by far the best ROMCOM I’ve ever ready, BUT for the love of god, end already!!! Lol
Any recommendations for similar managed 😊

I started reading this last May..can't believe it has been 18 years since it has started!
There was a part of me that didn't like ongoing manga as it was a pain to wait for the next chapter, especially when it is monthly/bi-monthly.

But that changed after reading Skip Beat, I started wanting more. I want to see more of Kyoko's acting roles, how she'll perform it and of course their character developments. ( Ren's past is what makes me most curious at the moment.)

So I could say that I don't want it to end.
This is the first manga that has hooked me to it this much.
And Kyoko and some other characters give me inspiration sometimes, no, maybe all the time, so whenever I read it, it becomes a source of inspiration for me as well.

But I AM SAD because it takes a month or two to read the next chapter so I wish it would become weekly or at least every fortnight (though I know it probably won't happen)
The author may not even be able to complete the manga as @AceMajin said.
I am really grateful to Nakamura Yoshiki-sensei for creating this wonderful manga and for keeping up with the surprises.

I picked up Skip Beat eight years ago. In that time span, I graduated high school and college and entered the workforce. Please, please let this end at least before I turn 30.

This is why I prefer Tokyo Crazy Paradise over Skip Beat. TCP knew where to end

We all want to see the end of it, but with the current flow of the story it certainly just can't end now !! It took them 280+ chapters to have a proper development and it's just the beginning. But I must admit that the pacing is kinda slow.

It's kinda funny, in a sad way, that it's STILL not done a decade after people were already asking "when is it going to end?".

I used to read Skip Beat but stopped because it was repetitive and getting nowhere. With a fairly limited core cast, you don't need 280 chapters to have "proper development". I'll probably pick it up again when it's done, which at this point looks like it won't happen in my lifetime lol.

I would be okay with the manga not ending just now and continuing to run for a few more years.
BUT the pace really needs to speed up again. One conversation or situation is dragged out through several chapters now often. Why? There's no need for that. You could deliver content filled chapters for years to come because this is not only a romance story. There's so much to explore like Kyoko's acting career, her family life, the supporting characters. Even the romance between her and Ren could slowly progress and she could even become pregnant and whatnot. All that would give content enough for years and years even if you did not drag out a single event endlessly...Most of us like the characters enough to continue following the story even if the main objective of this romance "get together with Ren" is fulfilled. So why? It's actually making me enjoy the series less with the way it's going...

Reading this comments section has been an interesting read. it sounds like the romance is at a stand still and the plot has a lot to develop.

Eitherway, I'm actually excited to get into this

All of us, my man. I knew one gal who started reading it all excited when she was in high school. She's about 39-40, by now. At least the author doesn't take his sweet time with this one, like the one who wrote Berserk that died recently.

Perhaps some scenes are stretched out through several chapters, but some are definitely not. Take the Momiji's arc for example. Momiji is the first drama role, Kyoko has had to audition for, yet the whole filming was skipped through pretty fast. A decent amount of time was given to her training and the audition itself, but after that pretty much few scenes and we're done with that "A Lotus in the Mud" movie. The scenes that are stretched are scenes with great emotions involved, like the Heel siblings interactions, the "going in guns blazing", etc. and they should be so. Detailed from both of their perspectives. The meat of series that needs to be properly and slowly chewed for better digestion.

That's great to hear! Although, there are now 302 chapters translated, right? Are these all the 47 volumes? I see that the 48th volume will be only released in June:
