| Just recently turned 26.. I have watched anime off and on for years, but only began watching it regularly (a few+ episodes a day) over the past few months. Even though I've always liked girl/girl themed things, I didn't watch my first Shoujo-Ai til about 6 months ago. |
| Age 16 here, my first yuri, and my first subbed anime was begun around the end of the past year, shortly after Christmas I believe. Strawberry Panic to be precise. |

| I never answered the other question !! so first anime ever when i was a kid were Haidi, Anime Sanjushi, Sailor moon Dragonball. around 2000 I got my first subbed anime which was Neon genesis Evangelion. and around 2007 I started watching Sailor Moon again, there in the subbed version my fav Character was a lesbian, and her love with her girlfriend was simply beautiful and epic. I found out about Yuri about a year later and I was totally hooked, though still my fav Yuri Couple is Haruka and Michiru from Sailor Moon |

| So I waited a little over a year to answer this thread so that everyone's age edged a year closer to mine. Yes, I figured out a way to freeze my age at 39. (You can't ask how.) Chain of yuri events: 2009/07: AfterEllen.com led me to the streaming of Aoi Hana - never watched Japanese anime in my life before that...didn't even know yuri/yaoi/mahou shoujo genres existed in my "all work and no play" live action world. I've only known real life gays and slept with lesbians (well. more bis than I realized), but not to see us animated so well! Haha~~ Then, discussions from Aoi Hana led me to a show called Maria-sama ga Miteru...discussions from Marimite led me to Strawberry Panic. The rest is history documented on my Anime list. My first DVD purchase was Kashimashi, Marimite (S1-S3), and Kannazuki no Miko all in one order. :P 18 months later, I now own about 80+ shoujo-ai/yuri titles in my DVD/BD library. You ask why buy? Because I have the purchasing power [I'm old(er), remember?]...and without silly patrons like me & others...the genre will die off. I try to pay it forward whenever I can. Seriously, reading this thread was really fascinating...demographics-wise. You guys/gals are so, so young. Good for humanity - there is hope afterall. |

Then it wasn't til like several months ago that I got into watching anime again all because I was curious what Strawberry Panic was all about.
