| Hey guys, Hopefully someone reads this. I've been with this site for a very long time now and I'm trying to change my 5 year old profile picture and wallpaper. It says to give it 5 minutes, however I've given it about 30 minutes and still neither has changed. Other settings like the columns of my list have changed immediately, it just seems to be an issue with updating my pictures. Can you look into this? |

As for the profile picture, what're you trying to change it from and to?I see a character from One Piece there. Also, try pressing Ctrl + F5 a few times over the next hour. I uploaded my profile picture and pressed Ctrl + F5, didn't work and then tried again a few more times in the same hour and it worked. |

| Thankfully, logging out and back in and THEN pressing Ctrl F5 seems to have worked. Not sure if it had anything to do with waiting a day either, but thank god that's over. Now I know to never change my profile picture ever again. Oh and I just noticed but what gives with my signature? It's so outdated, it's like 400 episodes and 7 months behind... |

Why is it taking so long? I would very much consider there's something wrong this it. The CDN sees that you are still using the forum avatar, therefor, doesn't have a reason to delete it. If you read the first "here", you would know as well a method on changing your forum avatar. |
| The reason it's not working it because http://cdn.myanimelist.net/images/useravatars/4077251.gif http://cdn.myanimelist.net/images/useravatars/4077251.png http://cdn.myanimelist.net/images/useravatars/4077251.jpg are all taken by a picture. If you do want to change your avatar, please leave one format alone and do not switch to it for a week or a week and a half. The CDN will see that the picture is no longer being used and will remove it. Then upload the correct format (The one the CDN removed, the one you should not be using). You can check if a format is available by clicking one of the above and seeing a "404 Error". The error means the CDN cannot pull up a picture to the link and you are free to upload. I suggest rotating as well, as it is bad practice to be uploading a new avatar a week, what you can do is keep an avatar for a while, rotate to another file type, then rotate to the third file type after you are tired of the second one. By the time you finish the third file type, you should be free to upload in the first file type. |

| MAL wont let me upload anything as a picture. Like, I removed my old one, and tried to upload a new one, but it takes me to some Internal Server Error message. No idea what I did to cause that. This is for my normal avatar, not my forum one. (Even though that one hasn't changed either...) My old avatar was jpg format, and I tried to upload a png. Dunno if that has anything to do with it. | This is getting so annoying. I upload a new avatar as JPG, it changes back to my old JPG avatar and remains so for like 12+ hours. Then I randomly refresh and changes to my new one. After few mins, I again refresh, and gets back to my old one. Just what the hell. |

| Every time I try to upload a jpg image it will revert to an old avatar image of Gintoki. Whenever I try to upload a PNG it'll revert to the old avatar of Luffy. Any GIF images will revert to my Trafgar Law avatar. The thing is I want the trafagar law to be my profile but having to upload as a GIF creates dots all over it. And maybe I'll want a new avatar in the future. I've read that this has been a problem for years, what is up with MAL never fixing or updating things. Is there any way I can work around this? Could a mod change my profile picture? I've tried the three tips to no avail. |

| Thread Merged @BlueXRam All your cdn. spots are taken by pictures. Please stick with one format and do not upload or change for 1-2 weeks. after 1-2 weeks, you should be able to upload a picture in the other two formats. After that, you can try rotating formats. More information can be found here. |

| No luck with any of the mentioned fixes, even tried deleting the browser caches on both comps and removed the old av without replacing and it still manages to resurface. really annoying and after more than 5 years it should've been addressed..... |
