@LuxuriousHeart Lazarus is American propaganda filled with wokeslop. Even putting aside the wokeslop it's just a pathetic knockoff/imitation of cowboy bebop made in attempt to nostalgia bait but it failed in every metric.

| Well not surprised. Most European countries have a culture of watching shows dubbed and Americans are notorious in not wanting to hear foreign languages. Also people who watch a ton of anime rarely watch it on Netflix etc for the fact that the catalogues are tiny |

However, even with the Tokyo dialect, there may be some people in the Western parts of the country who speak different dialects that can't understand what is being said. I have also seen some Chinese subtitles on donghua. This is likely for similar reasons, especially to make it easier to understand for Chinese viewers. |
| Subtitles didn't used to be everywhere in Japanese TV. The biggest reason is that Japan has a lot of old people who can't hear that well |
