Liph said: According to the strictest definition yes, but last time I check our history Finland was more useful to Sweden than Norway so I rather have them as "Allies" actually >.> No, it's the definition. The word Scandinavia has always been used to describe the three kingdoms of Sweden, Norway, and Denmark. The red you'll see is what constitutes as Scandinavia proper. These countries are very closely linked both ethnically, culturally, and linguistically. Historically, Scandinavia has always consisted of these three nations. These people have more in common with Germany for example, than they ever will with Finland. If anything, we could include you because of your lovely accent, and beautiful women (though your food is shit). Only problem then would be that everyone would have to speak English. |

It is northern europe and in the eyes of outsiders it is pretty much the same thing! Anyhow,Croatia, good things: -Hospitable people -Social protection is at least average Bad things: -Corruption -Primitivism -Nationalism -Conservatism -Out of control bureoucracy-honestly to do even the smallest of things you have to get at least 5 documents, numbers, pin codes etc... -Lazyness -Cynicism-seriously,way too much cinicism here... -Political uncorectness -Unequality of all sorts -Undeveloped science -Undeveloped technology -Terrible elementary and secondary education -Unemployment -Terrible economic situation -Once again primitivism -Primitivism -More primitivism -We only have a few months of winter and summer for the rest of the year.We rarely have 'a real' spring or autumn...And I totally dislike summer. |

I'm from Japan, and of course I love it. I currently live in the US, and I also like it here too. Japan definitely has a many good parts, but the only thing that bothers me over there is how the society works. (Suicide rates are high, bullying is much worse of an issue than it is in the US, "hikikomori" is an issue, etc.) |

Israel- pretty boring, it's a country built on religious grounds so religion wise as an atheist its really not the best place to live in, but it's bearable... Mandatory military service is pretty irritating but you can learn new things (engineering wise) and make some money so also not a huge pain in the ass... economy could do better but then again it could also do worse, the government is terrible but i have hopes we get a better prime minister next election, the people are kinda hot headed, arrogant, love to argue... But im probably like that as well. MEH. Can't say i hate it. Can't say i like it. |

From the United States. Pros: Quality of Life Very diverse (In Culture, Climate, and Landscape) Educational system at higher levels Health Care (Which is great because as a whole we are unhealthy) People are friendly for the most part. Entertainment (Though some would disagree) Cons: Prison system (Should be more focus on rehabilitation) Welfare system Lack of Public Transportation Media Political Correctness has gone too far. Politicians Education at the lower levels. All I can think of for the moment. For the most part I enjoy living here, selfish of me to say but I guess it's because I can do anything I want without having any of the cons directly affect my way of living. For now... Edit: I probably should have been more specific, by Health Care I didn't mean the system itself. I think the coverage/insurance/cost aspect of it is poorly done. However, if I were to need surgery or find myself in the ER, I would feel fairly confident that the hospital I am in would be equipped with the latest technology and the attending staff would be competent and well educated. |

I'm from the United States, and I like it but I'm starting to dislike the society more and especially Hollywood and politics. The government forcing everyone to buy health care is unconstitutional and i think it is an insult too. It's like they are saying we can't take care of ourselves who want to take care of themselves. Plus Health care just adds a bunch of debt and makes everything worse. |

Scandinavia (Historically): Sweden, Denmark, Norway & Finland. Norden (The Nordic): Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland & Iceland. Finland could only be considered historically part of Scandinavia because for a large portion of history, it was part of Sweden. Yet for some mysterious reason, in over 500 years they didn't manage to learn to speak Swedish. They still speak their ooga-booga made up language where they for some reason feel the need to type every single letter twice in a row. Icelanders though, are decendants of Norwegians. Their language is derived from Old Norse, they were vikings, they share a culture history with Scandinavia. They're like a colony, except now they're broke and have no army. Also their food sucks. But still! :D The problem with having the Finns in a union is that language gap. In order to govern together, you need to understand eachother. A union sort of hinges on intermingling of the languages. It's not a stretch to imagine that Swedes learn to understand Danish, all it takes is some light practice. It's not that different of a language, it's mostly just a very different type of pronunciation. But understanding Finnish? That's not gonna happen. xD Baman said: Vinter said: Thorium baby, thorium.Until your oil runs out, and then you know you have a long drop waiting for you. I'm worried that might just please them. Apparently, hearing from the Dutch and Danes, Germans seem to love going to the beach to dig holes, which they then proceed to sit in. Eye witness account: “I was walking along a beach (Schevengingen) with a Dutch guy, and we saw a guy furiously digging a hole in the sand. My Dutch friend sneered. I asked him why the guy was digging a hole. He said, “Because he’s a dumb German.” I pressed, but what for? Is he building a castle or something? “No, he’s just a stupid German! He can’t help it! The morons just love digging holes for no reason!” Someone even made a comic about it. |

Denmark Like: welfare system dislike: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3d5tKhKjqsE Of course I dislike things, but overall it's a pretty good country in comparison to many others. And much of what I dislike, can be applied to humans in general. I like other things too, but the welfare system was just the first thing to pop into my mind. I agree, a Scandinavian union would be awesome! I did some math a while ago about what the GDP would be of an united Scandinavian country, I can't exactly remember how much but it was around the same level as Spain in total GDP, and the GDP per capita would be somewhere above the USA. |

Denmark. What i like about Denmark, is probably that it's kinda nice here. The nature is beautiful, or well. The nature we have left, that is. And the welfare system not to forget. I like the idea of that we pay a bit more in taxes to help those who need it, we don't pay for a visit at the doctor or a trip to the hospital since the welfare is taking care of their payment. But what i dislike about this country, is that no matter how hard i try, i can't really feel "at home" here. I don't know why, but this country just doesn't suit me, in my opinion. I don't really know what country does to be honest. Which is why i probably move when i finish my education. The song or Gustav? :p |
