Very good backstory, although it did feel a little rushed. Could have worked better over 2 eps.
In a single episode, they created a very good flashback.

ngl I don't like Vash and Knives as kids, they both seem annoying and their transformation happened too quick to leave an impression on me

Yes we finally get to learn more about Vash in this episode with his backstory, looks like he had it rough losing Rem, she seemed like such a nice human being indeed. Somehow I knew that Vash was not human because how else would you explain the hidden gun for an arm in a couple of episodes back. He’s an alien, him and a boy named Knives but apparently had opposing views on life. While Knives, yes has a point that the spider needs food in order to survive but Vash on the other hand is right that you can’t kill everything and everyone to survive.

And I honestly can’t support Knives’ actions towards the episode because god he must be so sick in the head if he wants nothing to do with humanity, drive the crew insane with what look like mind control powers and murder the vast majority of people onboard the ship he’s on. Otherwise this was an incredible episode that really answered a lot of questions I had in mind. And I honestly look forward to what’s coming next.

Rest in peace everyone that died in the spaceship, except Rowan, and Steve. So Vash, and knives are actually not humans. I didn't expect that. Something classic from the 80's, and 90's shows (you can go to space at any moment).

Spanish translation:
Descansen en paz todos los que murieron en la nave espacial, excepto Rowan, y Steve. Así que Vash, y Knives no son en realidad humanos. No esperaba eso. Algo clásico de los shows de los 80 y 90 (podes ir al especio en cualquier momento).

This should've been like 4 episodes and replaced half of the garbage in the first half of the show.

Easily the best episode so far. I was looking forward to more lore unfolding.
I wasn't expecting this kind of backstory and it pleasantly surprised me.
Some biblical references and also a fair amount of futurism. Interesting.
Vash has lived a long time and endured sad mourning. I want to see more.

Wow the best episode, at least for now.

I didn't know those things about their universe, I didn't know the earth was destroyed, I thought every event we have seen had took place on earth, or mars but it was on another planet this whole time, mind-blowing.

Finally Vash's backstory, that explains why he has that haircut and why he has that philosophy of being wholesome with everyone and not using violence but most importantly he isn't human. 107 years, he is at least that old wow, I wasn't expecting that at all and his brother Knives has to be the same Legato right?

I didn't like Rem's design, is basically Milly's design with some minor changes, is recycled.

This episode was truly mind-blowing, I now see Vash and the universe he lives in completely different and looks like things got serious from here. What a great episode.

Alright, finally some context. Big fan of the tone and pacing of this episode relative to the previous 16
