Everything that happened so far wasn’t out of the ordinary for me I already mentioned 5 if you actually read my post. “Wasn’t out of the ordinary for me” probably says you like shounen armor too much. Basically, Isayama wasn’t using shounen cliches throughout the manga cause he was saving it for the last arc. He used plot conveniences in favor of the alliance just to reach this ending that’s why it’s the worst arc. Yes. Plot conveniences are 100% bad writing. It’s published in a shounen magazine but considering Isayama didn’t use shounen bs until this last arc makes the last arc the worst arc. It doesn’t make it bad overall if that’s what you’re thinking of. I enjoyed the journey but there was no treasure at the end. |

Roger1 said: No that’s were you’re wrong. He’s been using Shounen bs for the longest you’ve just been ignoring it. The childhood friends in AoT have the biggest plot armor in the series. Eren just happened to run into Mikasa in S1 right before she died after magically turning into a Titan. I thought after a Titan shifter got eaten by a Titan they would die and that Titan who ate them would become the new Titan shifter. But nah Eren was in the belly and somehow transformed. When Armin was burnt to a crisp in S3, it made sense for Erwin to get the injection, but nah childhood friend Armin’s plot armor kicked in. S2 right before everyone was about to die Eren just so happens to punch his stepmom suddenly activating the coordinate and taking control of the Titans. None of that was Shounen bs right?Reshiram_IX said: Roger1 said: Reshiram_IX said: Can someone tell me what was so bad about this last arc and how most of you expected the series to end? In S2 eren couldn’t transform so he tried to fight and it activated his power. In this last arc, go explain why the past titans could somehow control their body to help the alliance, why did eren not remove the explosives in his neck so they could blow it off, why did the warhammer titan stab pieck’s titan form and not pieck herself when she didn’t even notice the warhammer to dodge it, why’d a flying falco suddenly appear and he could control it right off the bat and transform back so fast and others more. The problem with your examples was that the reason can be explained logically while shounen bs I’m talking about is the magic plot armor. |

I hope that therapy is cheap in you country if this are the things that trigger you. If it were he wouldn't be here begging for opinion-pennies. I mean he's responding to literally everyone in this thread lol. “Look the 8.74 of the manga is genuine but the 9.11-9.15 of the latest anime seasons is not!!! is pure overhyping!!!” was all we needed to knew what was the kid agenda with this thread. Yeah I mean the FMA's average taking into consideration the older anime is 8.67. Even lower if we count the movies, so it also has this 'pure overhype' buffer. Well I like both FMA and SnK and I think that the FMAB score is deserved but I would never be pathetic enough to go to the FMAB subforum to make a hate thread because I’m butthurt about so many people calling it a masterpiece. That would be sad as fuck. Yeah unfortunately the FMAB fans have become the modern OP fans when it comes to toxicity. Every fanbase has its own but the ratio is off the charts there. |

It’s not really a plot hole for like eren not removing the explosives on his neck or not killing pieck. You can’t say he didn’t notice the explosives or he didn’t want to kill pieck either if you read it. It’s just plot convenience. Santa Titan just happened to not chew, The Smiling Titan just happened to be royal blood, Armin just happened to survive being burned to a crisp and falling from a great height and Erwin just happened to survive having half his torso shot off even though everyone else died, it's all convenient, stories are inherently convenient, you can run with plot holes, the past shifters suddenly helping the alliance has not been explained, so it's a plot hole (It can still be explained in 139), but you should drop the plot convenience argument, because the entire story is convenient, even if it follows logically. If you finished reading my comment I said “ I’m talking about is the magic plot armor” so by plot convenience, I meant an event that had no logical explanation on why it happened. It’s not really a plot hole for like eren not removing the explosives on his neck or not killing pieck. You can’t say he didn’t notice the explosives or he didn’t want to kill pieck either if you read it. It’s just plot convenience. You can explain those past ones but you can’t explain the current ones. You just making it sound that the whole aot is bad though while I’m only talking about the last arc. It's just as logical that Pieck survives being attacked by The Warhammer, as it is logical that Armin survives being burned to a crisp and falling the height of a wall and surviving. It's just as logical that Eren plays around with Porco and wastes time, instead of eating him right away, as it is logical that Ymir doesn't summon titans to remove the explosives. It's just as logical that Mikasa swoops in to save Eren from being killed by The Warhammer, as it is logical that Falco swoops in to save The Alliance. All of these are convenient. No they aren’t. You just repeated what I already explained lol pieck shouldn’t have survived when eren was trying to kill them while armin COULD have survived cause it was just steam. Eren not eating porco was plot convenience as well. It wasn’t in the last arc so I didn’t mention it. So not removing the explosives is still a plot convenience and isn’t logical. Mikasa saving Eren was planned from the letters that Eren sent while flying falco just magically appeared and is equal to power of friendship bs writing. |

Roger1 said: We only have 1 chapter left so I don’t see how this will magically get better. With the exception of 122 and 131, the writing went downhill. A lot of plot conveniences happened just to reach this ending like Hange dying for the heck of it, the magic flying falco, the explosives that eren didn’t remove so they can blow his head off, the power of friendship, talk no jutsu and other dumb stuff. Aot fanboys kept saying to wait for the next chapter over and over again for months to wait for a “plot twist” and none happened. Everything went to the advantage of the alliance. Yeah they suffered some but the giant eren should’ve been impossible to stop so they still basically won. This can’t be a masterpiece with this ending. The saving grace to keep the ending decent is that if Isayama doesn’t reverse the titan curse but ymir’s smile at the end says otherwise. 1 month to go which I doubt will have any plot twists or fix the plot conveniences cause there’s basically no time. It was a very fun and exciting journey but like many anime nowadays, it won’t have a satisfying ending since the end doesn’t justify the means. worst arc lol not even close it was one of the best |

The difference between what you’re saying is that the past ones could be explained and reasoned with while the current ones can’t. The main question is how? You haven’t stated even one logical reason. You’re just answering with basically the same questions. I am answering with questions because I want you to come to the conclusion that these conveniences in the final arc are explained with the same logic that conveniences in previous arcs are explained. Why did The Warhammer Titan not hit Pieck? It missed. Why did Kenny not hit Levi? He missed. Why did Zeke not hit Levi? He missed. Why did Ymir not remove the explosives? She had a brain fart. Why did Eren not eat Porco immediately? He had a brain fart. This "non-logical shonen bs" you speak of, has been here the whole time. If you look up burn injuries, you will also see that if someone like in Armin's case got 4th degree burns all over their body, they would most assuredly die, and he falls 50 meters, and you can see that his ODM gear detached from his body, rough landing, but he survives both of these things, which is extremely convenient. Falco coming in last moment, can be completely explained, and is explained in the manga, he transforms on the boat, and flies towards The Rumbling, it's convenient sure, but not any more convenient than the scouts coming in to save Eren. I'm trying to show you, that the final arc is not special when it comes to plot convenience, it's been in the story many times before, I am going to assume that the only reason it bothers you so much in this arc is because you are not in favor of the outcomes of the conveniences, where as, in the past arcs, you were. |

Why shouldn't Pieck survive while Armin should survive falling 50 meters? Eren not eating Porco was convenient aye, so you admit that it's not only the final arc that has plot convenience as you put it? We knew Falco could be on his way based on the boat scene, just like we knew The Scouts could be on their way based on the letters, they both just appear suddenly. How about Levi conveniently not being hit by the first salvo of rocks from Zeke, even though he is standing right out in the open? How about Levi conveniently not being hit by the surprise attack from Kenny, even though he was caught by surprise, and Kenny is a highly trained Ackerman? First if you read the latest arc, Eren was free to hit pieck but instead hit pieck’s titan so why didn’t he unless for plot convenience? In armin’s case, if you search the internet, there are cases of people surviving falling from higher than 50 meters so it’s possible and Armin’s odm gear was attached to the colossal titan so that could have slowed down his fall. Yeah the final arc wasn’t the only arc with plot convenience but it has the most and the dumbest one so it doesn’t change it from being the worst arc which was the topic of this thread. The boat scene was already in the final arc so it is still included in the final arc plot convenience of a flying falco. Pieck wasn’t moving so how come it missed? She didn’t even notice the warhammer until she got stabbed. Can’t remember the kenny part so no comment but Zeke throwing rocks which had no accuracy obviously could miss. What’s the point of you still comparing the explosives to porco not getting eaten when I already said they’re BOTH plot conveniences. In regards to the burn, if you search the internet, it’s not 100% fatal. The same with falling from high places. Armin would have died if he wasn’t transformed into a titan. Like I said, Flying Falco was plot convenience too which has no background and happened JUST CAUSE unlike the scouts saving eren which was planned from the letters. Your explanations aren’t even logical lol brain fart really? Compare what you just explained regarding the last arc to what I explained regarding the past arcs. It wasn’t a big deal then since you could logically explain it with an aot perspective while now you can’t. You just repeating your questions without even answering the real problems lol. |

Yes they weren’t as eren was swallowed alive and his arm was cut off making him be able to transform. Armin was burned by steam so it was possible for him to still be alive with just the skin gone. It wasn’t a big deal then since you could logically explain it with an aot perspective while now you can’t. You just repeating your questions without even answering the real problems lol. Exactly! They are not logical, that's the point! There has been non-logical bs since the beginning, final arc is not special. Levi wasn't moving so how come Kenny missed? Because Isayama doesn't want to just kill characters, so he creates artificial moments of tension to build up to moments of resolution, same thing with Pieck, it's not a special convenience. I keep comparing the explosives to Porco BECAUSE they are both plot conveniences, your argument is that the last arc is the worst arc because it is filled with plot conveniences, I am showing you that the final arc is not special when it comes to plot conveniences. Levi not getting hit by Zeke's rocks, but a bunch of the recruits being, is extremely convenient for him. Armin surviving is extremely convenient. It doesn't matter that it has "possible" explanations, it's still really convenient. Flying Falco didn't happen just cause, there has been foreshadowing of a flying titan, and it was explained better and is more probable than previously mentioned examples, he had Zeke's spinal fluid aka Beast Titan spinal fluid inside him, making his titan a Jaw with beast properties, he was able to control his titan on his second transformation just like Eren, and Falco is a warrior candidate trained to be a shifter, and he inherited Beast Titan memories through paths, that showed him he could fly, it's all explained logically. I don't have to prove that Pieck and the explosives have a logical explanation, because that is not my argument, my argument is that this final arc does not have any more convenient bs than previous arcs, which I have proven to you by juxtaposing all of your examples with examples from previous arcs. |

Damn you still don’t get the difference. The convenience I’m saying is the nonlogical ones and you’re still getting them confused. I already said that I meant the magical shounen bs. The ones you’re comparing with the ones I said have logical possible explanations to them. I’m just using the word “convenient” cause they aren’t really plot holes. I’ll just say plot “shit writing” instead of convenience then. Does that make it easier to understand? |

I thought after a Titan shifter got eaten by a Titan they would die and that Titan who ate them would become the new Titan shifter. But nah Eren was in the belly and somehow transformed. When Armin was burnt to a crisp in S3, it made sense for Erwin to get the injection, but nah childhood friend Armin’s plot armor kicked in. S2 right before everyone was about to die Eren just so happens to punch his stepmom suddenly activating the coordinate and taking control of the Titans. None of that was Shounen bs right?Reshiram_IX said: Roger1 said: Because it borrowed some ideas from Shounen series that makes it bad? Okay. Isn’t Attack on Titan published in a Shounen magazine?Reshiram_IX said: Can someone tell me what was so bad about this last arc and how most of you expected the series to end? Yes they weren’t as eren was swallowed alive and his arm was cut off making him be able to transform. Armin was burned by steam so it was possible for him to still be alive with just the skin gone. Hinted where? If you’re saying in the anime where Isayama added that original scene then that’s irrelevant then. It’s still plot convenience as far as I’m concerned since it all went to the convenience of the alliance. |

I am not getting them confused, I know you are talking about conveniences with bad or no explanation. Is your argument not that the last arc is the worst because it has a bunch of non-logical conveniences? Have I not juxtaposed your non-logical examples from this arc, with non-logical examples from previous arcs, to prove to you that it is not non-logical conveniences that is this arcs unique problem, since every arc before it has plenty of non-logical conveniences? I explained to you the logic behind Falco's flying titan, are you going to respond to this point? You didn’t prove anything as you didn’t even say a logical explanation about the ones in the current arc. Where in the previous arc was the foreshadowing of the flying titan? How’d he inherit the memories that he can fly and beast + jaw = bird? Sure if you like to force it. If it’s in the current arc then it’s included in my definition of the last arc is the worst anyway. Can’t really argue with that. You’re just comparing them but they can’t even be compared as I stated logical explanations for the past ones while you didn’t for the current ones. Yes they weren’t as eren was swallowed alive and his arm was cut off making him be able to transform. Armin was burned by steam so it was possible for him to still be alive with just the skin gone. You stated shit writing though like “he missed or brain fart” which I don’t consider logical. Why do I need to give a logical explanation for the ones in the current arc? My argument has never been that they all have logical explanations. Chapter 93, "We don't have any titans with wings, do we?" How the fuck do you expect me to explain how paths and titan magic work? It's magic. beast + jaw = bird because magic inherit memories because magic summon flesh mechs out of thin air because magic time travel because magic You didn't give a logical explanation for Porco, why should I give a logical explanation for the explosives? The point is that they both don't have one! Armin surviving because he "could" is just as shitty an explanation as The Warhammer Titan missing Pieck with it's trident because it "could". What is it you think my argument is? Can you steelman it for me? Going to bed now, so you won't get an answer for a while. |

Lmao I think chapters 123- where we are now is easily the worst arc and is on the same level of the first few arcs for me. The alliance wasn't handled well Almost all characters have received little to no characterization and depth this arc Bird titan is BS. Falco is the jaw titan as well, it logically shouldn't be possible for him to have Zeke's abilities. Him ingesting Zeke's spinal fluid just isn't a valid explanation to me. Annie meeting up with the alliance happened in the dumbest way imaginable. It was like Isayama couldn't bother make her join in a sensible way We haven't seen that much Eren POV, despite him easily being the most engaging and interesting character in the narrative currently Hange's death was unnecessary. There's literally no valid reason as to why she would do what she did The Connie chapter was unnecessary. It was such a laughably bad attempt at trying to give Connie more depth. If Isayama wouldn't execute it well, it would be better it didn't take up time at all Story execution Shit ton of plot convenience, especially in the final fight. I refuse to believe that not one member of the alliance wouldn't have realistically died when they were fighting literal hundreds of iterations of the 9 titans, all of which were sentient Zeke's character arc should've been longer than half a chapter Paths being used as a way to try and explain plot convenience. It's extremely overused at this point and is taking away from the grounded nature of the story before. AOT was never really realistic, but "Paths magic" is another level of fantasy that AOT had never been at Hallucigenia is still unexplained. It being a parasite I cannot believe, as it has shown that it was somewhat sentient when it decided to turn everyone into titans and control them. Also how would it even graft itself on to whoever has the founding titan(i'm assuming it's only the founding titan)? I bet that's just going to be explained with Paths magic again I don't dislike AOT, but this final arc has been extremely unimpressive compared to arcs like RTS and Marley arc. I don't really see a twist happening in the last chapter that could save the narrative and properly wrap up all the plot threads and answer necessary questions (such as hallucigenia). If it ends the way I can see it ending, AOT will go from a 9.5 to a 7.5/10 for me. |

Is the last arc everything after Marley? or just everything that happens after 123? Cause I consider 108-123 to be peak aot, but everything that comes after that is like the worst the series has to offer (except for 131) imo. Call this cope, but I only consider wfp to be 108 to 123, and the rest is just the "rumbling" arc. With this established, I don't think "rumbling" arc is the worst, it has the worst writting but at least it had better moments than 104th trainning arc. I still don't get how Isayama wrote one of the best shonen arcs ever (it's top 3 for me) and then the next one is a 6/10. Did the publisher interfered? |

Yes they weren’t as eren was swallowed alive and his arm was cut off making him be able to transform. Armin was burned by steam so it was possible for him to still be alive with just the skin gone. Like I said the last arc is the worst arc and you just proving it too lol. Why should I give a logical explanation for Porco when I already said it’s also plot convenience which has no logical explanation so we already agree they’re both dumb writing lol you obviously didn’t read my previous comments. Difference is that armin’s is could while pieck’s is shouldn’t and “missed” when she wasn’t moving also reinforces the worst arc argument. The last arc is definitely the worst arc cause of its magic shounen thingy cause of paths |

Wholeheartedly agree that AoT has made a turn for the worse, this latest arc has been a joke, with how much asspulling Isayama can implement. The last twist I could see coming is that Eren actually chose to die on purpose so that his death matches up with the birth of Historia's child, and as such inherits Eren's memories and Titan powers. But we'll see, I would like to see the flashes in ep 1 of the anime to make sense, as Eren sees flashes of a kid's room, which could be Historia's child's room. |

The last arc is definitely the worst arc cause of its magic shounen thingy cause of paths Well the only problem I’m seeing is fanboys like you who can’t see the problem with the last arc lol. There are more who agreed with me in this thread anyway so have a good day :) |

Yes they weren’t as eren was swallowed alive and his arm was cut off making him be able to transform. Armin was burned by steam so it was possible for him to still be alive with just the skin gone. Hange has to take a honorable death because she is more important than Connie and Jean. In the end, everyone but the Ackerman and Titan-shifters gets turn into Titan/die |

I just reached the last arc. I think this arc is not only the best in the manga, and I don't say this lightly as I disagreed with those who said the Marley/Shiganshiha arcs were better than the Female/Trost arcs, but also the best in manga history ever, surpassing even the Chimera Ant arc, which is a tough fucking act to follow. I also have to say I don't even see the divide between Paradis/Rumbling that many people see. |

I agree with what you said mostly except for the magically flying Falco and Hange Spoilers: Falco’s intake of Zeke’s Spinal Fluid altered his Titan to be more beast like while still keeping the Jaw Titan name, hence growing wings. I do that events such as the Rumbling are overhyped and called twists despite being said to happen previously. Without Hange’s death they definitely would’ve been flattened. By Hange killing the 4 colossal titans she gave them more time to take flight and escape. |
