Why do the zombies don't eat each other but instead look for fresh humans ?
| Okey, well, this question has been in my head for quite some time now, and well.... I want to see you guys opinion on this matter. Zombies are flesh eating monsters, zombies = flesh too So why dont they bite each others head off instead of trying to gang rape the civilians ? |

' virus requiring living hosts in order to spread' this sounds like the zombies are actually intelligent life forms, and their mission is to cover the world with fear and zombies. From my point of view, they aren't that smart. but you might have a point, maybe the disease is designed to 'BE' spread. Then that would mean there is a corporation behind it. |

| to be honest I can't think of anything else......I think this is the most suitable answer for it. The answer in the resident evil is kinda full of flaws as well. they choose their simplest instinct and that is to eat why not they don't eat themselves!!!! (face palm) |

| Like with general Zombie films, i've always felt that they can somehow communicate with one another, thus explaining when one zombie notices a live human, the rest follow. I recently read the first chapter of "The Walking Dead" (tis awesome, read it!) & they bring up a point about the smell, so another zombie will smell like rotting flesh, but a human will smell fresh, meaning a human smells more appetising. i've always hated the "they're stupid" explanation, i like to think they're more then just mindless corpses feasting on humans ...but ...who knows with HSOTD, to be fair, i don't think we'll ever know :P |

| hmmm "smell", it seems the sense of smell of human become more stronger when we are transform into zombie.... Actually my idea i brought up just now is from the vampire story.The vampire need to suck as many human's blood as possible in order to cure their own. |

| zzzzz, you might be right....but then again. They are dead right ? So the heart shouldn't be pumping. No pumping heart = No blood flow = No blood to brain = brain cell dies even being choked for like 60 secs can heavily damage your brain cells due to lack of oxygen if I am not mistaken. |

I mean, they are technically walking corpses, they're dead, they should just be .....on the floor all dead but something inside them has changed, maybe the infection has something that changes the whole chemical balance, rather then just making them want to feed on live flesh. |

There are also the instinct of reproduction and sex.Since infection is a sort of way to create more zombie,there is a chance that they might be the reason why they didn't eat themselves. To put it simply their conscious minds deteriorate, and what's left is some predatory instinct. And I guess they aren't very aware of each other, they're all just individuals attracted to living flesh. Though I wonder about things like animals, since they didn't seem to attack that one dog, there were only attracted to it's barking. So maybe some part of the brain that has to do with dealing with other humans get's all infected and warps into one that causes them to be hostile towards humans. | When zombies become a REALITY, then im sure we'll find out. But as it stands, zombies are just living human corpses that feed on human flesh for whatever reason. Those are the codes and conventions of zombies THAT IS COMPLETELY FICTIONAL and are made up, possibly originally as folk-law or just for entertainment purposes. What next? Are all zampires so camp looking, like in Twilight? (I'm guessing here, never seen it, never want to) Or is Rob Zombie a real zombie? |

| Why is this insignificant detail even being discussed? Technically their not zombie's but are people infected with a zombie like virus. The virus can not be spread to other "zombies" as they are already infected. If you have noticed they don't eat humans they simply bite them and leave and then the infected human becomes one of them and does the same. Since the only thing they do is spread the virus to the living and they don't need to eat I don't understand why your confused. |
