Nomination 1: Mikadono Sanshimai wa Angai, Choroi.
Optional Positive Comment: I'm actually surprised its eligible for clash, given how solid the production quality is. The importance of family is well showcased here as its main theme, focusing a lot on character interactions, not only between mc and sisters, but (whats even more important) between the sisters themselves.

Nomination 2: Ame to Kimi to
Optional Positive Comment: A very relaxing but also mature show, making me think about my life choices along the main character. The struggle of finding something you actually love to do is amazingly depicted here, and using smart tanuki as her support was a good choice as well.

Nomination 3: Zutaboro Reijou wa Ane no Moto Konyakusha ni Dekiai sareru
Optional Positive Comment: You usually think about villainess for all shows including "Reijou" in titles, but this one focuses on entirely different matter, of finding a place where you can belong and getting out of the spiral of self-hatred. Another hidden gem of this season.

Nomination 1: Mattaku Saikin no Tantei to Kitara
Optional Positive Comment: I absolutely loved the comedy here. It was absurd, random, and coming out of nowhere. I could notice some references, but that wouldn't make the unnoticed ones unfunny. The character designs and visuals are pretty good, considering we're also getting the God-tier Yofukashi no Uta adaptation, too, this season.

Nomination 2: Mikadono Sanshimai wa Angai, Choroi.
Optional Positive Comment: Good harem romance with a male lead as competent as Rentarou, despite being a 'loser' at school. All the moments with all the heroines are rather cute and funny, so far. The OP is good, and all the EDs are decent.

Nomination 3: Kizetsu Yuusha to Ansatsu Hime
Optional Positive Comment: Oh, my. What can I say? Toto being fainted everytime will never be not funny. Anemone clears ahead being the best girl, too. It was indeed one of the anime with the least good animations, but I overall enjoyed the story and their adventure.

Commiserations:
Hanako-kun (so bad it's abandoned. 5 years seems too long for shounen fans, as this wasn't a Bleach/Black Clover type shounen series)
Tsuihousha Shokudou e Youkoso!
Watari-kun no xx ga Houkai Sunzen (would've been in my Top 3 had this psychological romcom series got a proper adaptation)
Zutaboro Reijou wa Ane no Moto Konyakusha ni Dekiai sareru

Nomination 1: Mattaku Saikin no Tantei to Kitara
Optional Positive Comment: It didn't have the best start, nor the most unique jokes/bits, but, it did manage to be fun in the later episodes.

Nomination 2: Shin Samurai-den Yaiba
Optional Positive Comment: It's still doing quite well for a remaster remake, and being a solid callback to classic Anime.

Nomination 3: Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun 2 Part 2
Optional Positive Comment: For an 'Unsupported Show' candidate, this seems to be very highly rated, which I can only assume is a sign that it's still treating its active viewers/fanbase really well.

Ame to Kimi to
Optional Positive Comment: My 2nd favourite this season. Very relaxing, great pace with comedy bits. I'd say the setting has a good amount of cliché french trendy vibe that's still charming and not overplayed. Getting lost in Fuji's eyes and witness You's shenanigans is too comfy. One of my fav episode is like a definition for well-crafted "slice of life" in my book.

Mikadono Sanshimai wa Angai, Choroi.
Optional Positive Comment: It doesn't get more classic harem than that and with a season this stacked it's a welcome comfort zone. Very consistent.

Zutaboro Reijou wa Ane no Moto Konyakusha ni Dekiai sareru
Optional Positive Comment: Very cinderella like setting with middle-eastern touch. I quite like the main character design. Mostly great chemistry between characters.

Nomination 1: Shin Samurai-den Yaiba
Optional Positive Comment: Yeah, I’ll continue to sing this series’ praises. It may have gotten caught up in a big fetch quest, but this series’ side quests are the point. It revels in its humor one minute, turns dark and life threatening the next, and balances those well. And yes, the animation still looks great, sharp and clean as ever.

Nomination 2: Mikadono Sanshimai wa Angai, Choroi.
Optional Positive Comment: This is a really sweet series. I’ve found these characters endearing and it’s nice to see how the MC supports the titular sisters. It’s set up a lot of good dramatic tension, though one of the most tantalizing clashes hasn’t happened yet.

Nomination 1: Mikadono Sanshimai wa Angai, Choroi.
Optional Positive Comment: This is a show carried by it characters and its good animation. But thankkfully, their interactions are very good with each having a distinct personality that help bounce off each other to produce some heartwarming character moments and some funny moments. P.A works once again makes a well produced show that helps make it one of the best Rom-coms this year.

Nomination 2: Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun 2 Part 2
Optional Positive Comment: Ramping up the stakes more than Part 1 helped this part be more engaging than Part 1, helped by the fact that the character drama is better as we learn more and more about Hanako-kun himself.

Nomination 1: Mikadono Sanshimai wa Angai, Choroi.
Optional Positive Comment: If you'd like rom-com stories created by male authors, why not try one that's created by a female, and it's so much better in every regard?

Nomination 2: Ame to Kimi to
Optional Positive Comment: If you need an anime that's a POV, Iyashikei style, you can do no better than this one. The feels and vibes just match like the wazoo.

Nomination 3: Zutaboro Reijou wa Ane no Moto Konyakusha ni Dekiai sareru
Optional Positive Comment: Out of the few nominations, I'm actually surprised that this is a decent, if not, solid Josei romance drama series that its villainess shtick may prove to be a step back, but everything else feels like a fresh breather from the slack of the sub-genre thus far.

Nomination 1: Ame to Kimi to
Optional Positive Comment: A nice chill show with some laughs. There's nothing intense about it but the characters make it fun, and the animals are so cute.

Nomination 2: Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun 2 Part 2
Optional Positive Comment: Part 2 has definitely gotten more interesting and exciting than Part 1 with more key reveals. We can see more sides of the various characters and it's great seeing how things tie together.

Nomination 1: Ame to Kimi to
Optional Positive Comment: I watched 3 episodes of this and it was cute, definitely the one I liked the best out of the eligible shows listed above! If you like a chill slice of life, this is very relaxing. I didn't continue as I'm not the biggest slice of life fan, but if that's your thing, this is a real keeper!

The following shows are not technically eligible, because they are TOO unsupported!? I don't understand why an unsupported shows event has a minimum member count, but here are three awesome shows with less than 35k entries that you should totally check out, as unofficial nominations! They would definitely be my 3 nominations if the minimum entries requirement was lifted, and are the 3 best unsupported shows of the season in my eyes.

Unofficial Nomination 1: Turkey!
Optional Positive Comment: I recommend going into this one blind if you don't yet know spoilers. Turkey! is an absolutely wild and unapologetically creative original anime about girls in a bowling club. The stakes get higher than you could ever imagine, the characters and their relationships are wonderful, the plot is endlessly intriguing, and the OP is a total banger. My biggest pleasant surprise of the Summer 2025 season. Episode 6 in particular blew me away with its character work. I don't want to say more and ruin the surprises, but this is one of the most creative things I've seen in a while.

Unofficial Nomination 2: Ginga Tokkyuu Milky☆Subway
Optional Positive Comment: Milky Subway is an indie anime primary created by Youhei Kameyama and a small team of assistants. It's a short-form anime with each episode less than 4 minutes long, and available in its entirety on Youtube for free, so it's super quick to catch up on! It's a hilarious and witty comedy about aliens and cyborgs arrested for petty crime, doing community service on the space subway together, when something goes horribly wrong. The characters feel so fleshed out despite the short runtime, and it's easily the best short-form anime of the year. It's an expansion on the 3-minute short film Milky☆Highway, so definitely watch that first.

Unofficial Nomination 3: Karaoke Iko!
Optional Positive Comment: A 5-episode dramedy about a yakuza who forces a middle school choir boy to teach him to sing karaoke so he can avoid coming in last place in his yazuka family's karaoke competition. One of the best coming of age stories I've seen in a while, the whole thing feels almost like a metaphor for growing up, as Satomi grapples with the fantastical yakuza problem he's been dropped into at the same time as the very grounded fear of losing his singing talent as he enters puberty and his voice changes. The two central characters and their dynamic are really interesting. There's also a much more chill companion anime set in the same universe called Muchuu sa, Kimi ni., a vaguely gay slice of life about an all-boys school, which is very cute, but Karaoke Iko! is definitely the better of the two.
