| ^^Does such a thing exist? It isn't just other people who those kinds of critics find fault with, but everything. Any other occasion and it is either bias, preferential treatment, or some ulterior motive born out of insecurity, such as protection of one's own position out of fear of losing it to someone just as capable. Perhaps a negative mindset can manifest and an individual can be prone to hastily judging others, but such people have a very difficult time faring well in society. ^I listen to quite a bit of the stuff. Most of my collection is of 90s -> 20s, and most of that is 70s - 50s. There is a sort of timelessness about a lot of old tunes that I do not have an ear for when it comes to more modern stuff. That isn't to say I don't listen to anything made in the last 30 years, as that is simply untrue, but I do not listen to nearly as much of the stuff as I do of older music. Same question. ___ Addendum: @Rizz_Khalifa Absolutely. I enjoy Glenn Miller and can pick any of his tunes out of a line-up. I also like a lot of the old German and French swing and cabaret. I would say that I wish the Big Band genre made a comeback, but it's probably never died and I am simply too lazy to go looking for its modern contemporaries. |
