Except, that's not the case here at all? He thinks he's cursed by his family's genes because his father was a no-good playboy. Yes, the joke is that he's not cursed, he just has zero self-control, but your interpretation is just wrong. He isn't treating women as if they're the problem or anything to do with them being temptresses, the problem is his own, and this is made very clear, he's not denying his own responsibility whatsoever.
Fair enough, but the idea of "pandering to ___ without having said character be ___" is still relevant here. Naofumi is not an incel, but the narrative Shield Hero panders to incels regardless of the author's actual intention. Likewise, Temple could fall into the same trap by having the narrative frame women as being intrusive into his celibate lifestyle regardless of the "actual" narrative context. Or rather, it may not be the main character treating the women as temptresses, but the narrative itself.

Or in short, terrible and stupid people can enjoy the same anime that we do in the same way that one guy who read Berserk walks away thinking Griffith is the ultimate victim.
I don't quite understand why you think that the Shield Hero and the Temple are pandering to such people. Yes, some incels or right-wingers may enjoy that the show features a false accusation of rape or a virgin man making women stupid, but this is clearly far from the intentions of the authors.

Well, you just said it. I think part of what needs to be understood here is that incels typically do not have high intelligence or a heightened degree of self-awareness. They seem themselves as good people who are victimized. You can call it unintentional or unintended pandering.

Well, I think it can be said about a lot of people in that sense. For example, last year I was surprised to learn how many autistic anime fans actually enjoy Goblin Slayer, sincerely thinking that the MC is autistic because of his goblin obsession.

True, this is how I feel about Neon Genesis Evangelion since Asuka is a pretty accurate example of someone with a cluster-B personality disorder; in the original series she was not the main character, at least when she went into a coma/catatonic. This all falls into relatability. Having a character or narrative you feel can relate to will make a series so much more effective. Having a relatable element can make us more forgiving of a series' flaws or outright ignore other elements of the series.

"I watch this anime because of this one character", basically.

This is not to say that everyone who enjoys these series are bad people, but that bad people can be drawn to these series because of their own issues and what the series can offer them.

I think that the main problems arise when people stop feeling the subjectivity of such an attitude and try to either impose it on others, or create high expectations and then get upset. Especially when the writers themselves tease it for one reason or another, as was the case with the last arc of Masamune kun Revenge or one show that I don't want to name due to painful emotions.

I don't see anything interesting about those examples on an "unintentional" level, but as long as we're in agreement on the former, then whatever.
If you reply back to me and I never respond, I lost interest and don't care. Sorry about that.

I think this is pretty refreshing actually. This guy has a confident and self-possessed personality instead of the typical harem MC who gets a stroke-level nosebleed just from a girl smiling at him. And I also enjoy how he actually explains himself to the other girls whenever he gets caught in your typical harem “looks dirty but is just a ridiculous misunderstanding” situation instead of just being like “uh-wait-ehhhh”
Yeah. It's a very decent harem show here. I do not detest the MC. The guy has skills.
