I was fine with Tiamat not being a playable character before because I could buy the whole ''but she's a special antagonist that you aren't meant to play durr hurr'' shit before, but now there's no excuse why Mobile doesn't have a playable Tiamat. |

Lmao it's exactly *because* it's an alternate timeline that I said that. I said what I did knowing everything about her already. But arcade and main game are genuinely not the same. Arcade can introduce whatever character they want whenever they want because ultimately there isn't as big a need to stay consistent as with the main game/main storyline. The aim is extra cash w/ some new lore to incentivise it, not to necessarily create a deeper, well-rounded story. Whereas Arcade does have that. We aren't gonna suddenly get Mother Harlot showing up in the main game because the development for her isn't there the same way it's in arcade - that's not the current direction the lore is going in, unless they divert it briefly in a collab or event or smthg - so Tiamat couldn't have shown up with the same reasoning as in arcade bc there is no sea calamity rn. But also even if Arcade didn't have Mother Harlot, I could totally still see them getting Tiamat first for the cashbait. I mean, Tiamama would've worked thematically w/ Cern as two loving gods that had their bodies used to create land in a primordial sea, but that would've just made LB6 an even greater clusterfuck The point of my statement was, did you really want them to randomly shove Tiamat in between all the unfinished plot lines we had already in the past year or so? Maybe the right phrasing wasn't "lore-wise" but "story-telling-wise"? Timing-wise? Waltz collab was silly, but would Tiamat right before LB6 have been a good idea? The larger take-away is that Tiamat always had the power to just become... a Servant and summon herself to help you if she wanted to. Something that should've been predictable considering that's what Kiara does, too. Nasu could've made up another excuse than ''sea calamity'' to make her do that. There's already build-up/justification for Tiamat being willing to side with Chaldea out of her motherly instinct/love towards humanity (that's literally the justification Arcade uses anyway). And since we know she was banished to the Imaginary Space, it could've been as simple as Chaldea seeking out her aid against a Beast (Koyanskaya, for example). did you really want them to randomly shove Tiamat in between all the unfinished plot lines we had already in the past year or so? Oberon himself came out of basically no where. Most major plotlines introduced in a chapter tend to be resolved within the chapter itself. You already answered your question, but Koyanskaya was a pretty convenient excuse to bring back Tiamat as the necessary firepower to battle a Beast with a Beast. If not Koyanskaya, the Alien God would've worked. The alternative was what we got now, just re-introducing Tiamat into some shitty spin-off Arcade game and boy do I not like such a major development occuring within the fucking Arcade of all things. |
