I've been a fan of this series for a long time. I've read the whole manga and quite frankly I really dont understand the appeal of Miku and why people consider her the best girl. Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike her or anything but I feel like she is just not as strong of a character as the other four quints. The other four developed drastically during the whole series compared to Miku. Miku had her moments but I dont think they were as significant for development. I'll list down some:

- Scrambled eggs hug: That felt like more of a developing moment for Fuutarou as this was his first identifying a quint without any real evidence

- Sisters war confession: Ok this was where I thought the real turn for Miku's character would begin but sadly this was another missed opportunity as she played it off again. I mean I get it, she did it for her sisters but still..

- Festival arc kiss: Probably the two most important chapters where I agreed Miku changed. My only issue with this is that it should had happened much earlier in the series. Each girl's festival arc kinda overshadowed it and Yotsuba's reveal made it even less meaningful.

Despite all this, I feel like the Miku character could had been much better. Just beyond me how she's more popular than other girls. Let me know your thoughts and keep it civil.

Miku is more of a Waifu Material compared to Best Girl for me, but I understand why a lot of people liked her, including me. Talking about Scrambled Egg, though I agree that it doesn't help much for Miku's development, the things that happened during and end result of the arc are enjoyable and satisfying to watch for Miku fans(the hug, the jokes, the drama, and end result was satisfying). It was also a really big development for Fuutarou, learning one of the most important thing, which is how to differentiate/identify the Quints.

Miku's development is spread towards the series, after meeting Fuutarou she begins to, want something all for herself (school camp), not giving up trying to learn something she likes even though she's bad at it(cooking), she special in her own way, trying to fight for something (Fuutarou's heart), not afraid to go up against her sisters, Become more daring(not animated yet). Ichika even mentioned Miku's change several times, school camp and before one of the exams. She's the clumsy but hardworking person that you just can't refuse help and grew to like more and more as time progresses. (An opinion of a Miku fan)

If you're not fond of her character is understandable as all Character are not for literally everyone, they're created to click/connect with as many people as they can but still not everyone. She's probably the most famous character out of all the characters of this series probably because she clicked with so many people, and not all people liked her character because of the same thing as well. There are people who probably liked her for her cuteness/her personality/her growth/her unique traits/all together.

If you don't find her interesting, you don't have to force yourself to like her either, as there are other characters that might be more to your liking, whether it'd be Ichika, Nino, Yotsuba, or Eatsuki.

She's quite bland for my opinion, but I can clearly see why people liked her character.

Her arcs and developments were good and decently written.

Her personality has its certain appeal, and her personality is one of the more tamed one in my opinion.

Overall, she is the most realistic girl in the show.

I honestly think it might be the same reason why people loved Rem so much. The average anime fan wants to support the girl that is openly into the main dude. Felt the same way when Nino became a love train with no breaks.

Honestly, this is a really good summary. Miku probably gets the most realistic progression and growth out of all the sisters both in the manga and the anime. It's not flashy compared to the other sisters or other anime glow-ups. It's the basic storyline of "quiet person breaks out of the shell," but that trope is pretty popular/supportable, and Negi did a good job writing that type of progression for Miku. While she never really gets an arc dedicated to her trying to change herself in the way Nino and Ichika do, she's constantly trying to change in the background of every arc. Most people probably resonate with the idea of "hard work pays off," and she puts in hard work in order to change throughout the whole series.

I agree. It's the same reason I belive she should be called WEAKU or MEEKU insted. She's cute, but she's BORING. Itchika is fun and loving, Nino has attitude, Itsuki also has attitude and loves food, Yotsuba is cheerful and lovable, but Miku? She's just a coward that wasn't even willing to play the game.

Shyness isn't cute, it's a CHARACTER FLAW.
