| Absolutely fucking LOVE this episode of Babylonia. They upped the pacing post-Gorgon's defeat, but that's exactly what this point of the story needs. Everything going so wrong, so fast. We're in a completely different playing field now and the viewers must feel the gravity of what just occurred. And goddamn, did they nail the direction for the Lahmus. The second most creepy creatures in Fate, by far, second only to the Matou worms. I loved everything here. The Shapeless Isle HA reference. The death of Gorgon. Kingu's reveal and Merlin's "death". The Lahmus appearing and killing everything in sight, while being extremely creepy and uncomfortable to watch. Gil's flashback. Ishtar and Quetz losing it against the Lahmus. Siduri... just goddamn. Kingu making a point to the Lahmus. The Lahmus making a point to Kingu. The laughter. That goddamn laughter. A 10/10 episode. lol The pacing in this episode was so fast, I didn't anticipate they advance so far in a single episode and didn't make an appropriate club cover yet. Oh well. |

| So, apparently they used a different code than in the game to make the Lahmu speech. From Reddit: I just found out on Twitter that apparently to translate this you have to take the words they said in the gojuon and return each letter by two in the gojuon order So, for example, the Lahmu that encounters Fujimaru says 「ほ…ほぜ」ho... hoze. If you return each hiragana by two you get 「ふ…ふじ」fu... Fuji When they put this much thought into the speech instead of just making it gibberish and calling it a day, you truly know how much this anime was blessed with a good schedule and true passionate fans in the driver seat. Also, those bastards, as if the Siduri scene needed to be more tragic... |

| Dunno. The more I hear about Studio BB, the less exciting it sounds. Fate/ spin offs by other authors work for me cause they already have a grounded framework and appeal to base themselves on, but a completely new Nasuverse IP that isn't written by the man himself just sounds bleh. Especially since the writer they got on board for this doesn't sound like someone promising. I'm all for new Nasuverse IPs that aren't Fate-related - especially since there's so much potential stuff to explore in the franchise, but when I see it's being spear-headed by some rando on what's likely gonna be a subpar RPG game I kinda lose my excitement for it. |

First, I haven't played most of the guy's other works, so I can't speak for his competence as a director, but his talk about how he strives for his games to not be mediocre, but either really good or complete trainwrecks... I mean, have you played the same Fate/Extra we did? It's like the dictionary definition of "Meh". The only good things about the Extra duology were the story (by Nasu) and the OST (by Kita and James Harris). You know, the things he had no control over making whatsoever... Second, he was the one who came up with the concept of the Moon Cell? Ok then, half the blame goes to you, then. Ok, maybe only a quarter since Nasu approved it and didn't make that concept very interesting when it was his job to do so. Third, uh, guys, if you're not handing the story to Nasu and instead giving it to a writer who writes trite JRPG stories, why the heck are you even trying to associate with Type-Moon? I'm all for optimism, but the track record for obscure writers touching the Nasuverse doesn't seem to paint a good picture for your favor. Only proven authors like Urobuchi and Narita managed to make something that's actually worthwhile. Even outside of those two Hiroyama's best work in 3rei is a complete and utter anomaly that nobody else is ever able to replicate with their respective spin-offs. And you say you're going to give a Nasuverse story to the guy who wrote Dragon Quest stories.... Well, okay then. I don't want to be too hard on Studio BB and this guy since he seems really passionate about Nasu's work like the rest of the fans are, despite what this comment may seem to imply, but... I was more excited when I knew nothing about the creative heads at the studio. Now I know not to keep my expectations high. If they managed to deliver, it'd a nice surprise. And if they couldn't, well, there's nothing a new IP can do to me more than Extella and LE already did. |

| Tsukihime is to this day one of the cornerstones that built the western Visual Novel community and remains to be one of the most highly anticipated Visual Novel releases as far as the Remake goes. Any venture or communication in a sizeable western VN community makes this apparent. Just because you're having a ''hard time'' bringing in new readers doesn't mean there's an actual lack of interest. If the considerably more obscure chuuni-piece ''Dies irae'' could find some modicum of success and popularity within the western Visual Novel community, it's kinda ridiculous that the far more well-known Tsukihime couldn't. You don't require ''FATE/'' to be successful so I don't know what's with insistence that you do when other VNs could do it. Its almost as if we've completely forgotten that yes, Tsukihime is actually relatively popular and comparing it to Fate, the IP that happens to be bringing in more money than shit like BnHA or One Piece in this day and age, is just stupid because just about any franchise IP loses that battle. Also, Visual Novels aren't really a dead genre. They're an obscure genre. Always have been. The difference now is that there's far more interest and involvement from Japanese Visual Novel companies with the western fanbase, which killed the presence of fanTL groups like in the past. And on that note: Look, all I'm saying is I know I'm the one who technically said this in the first place which is where all get this idea from, but to clarify, Mahoyo sold crappy for Type-Moon standards. It still sold good in comparison to other products in the market and was a successful game for Type-Moon. They sold out the copies they had and didn't do much with it past that. Its just that Nasu very likely wanted another hit on the level of Fate/Stay Night or Tsukihime. Not to mention that one of the *heaviest* contributors as to why Mahoyo didn't sell more was the lack of voice acting, which is thought of as a negative for a modern Visual Novel when even shitty eroge that sell minimal amount have it. And to further clarify, Mahoyo would definitely sell well in the Western market. Its been shown to be desirable in VN community polls times and times again, only ever being beaten out by Dies irae. |
