it turned out to be very fucking nice. Even though it was quite mediocre in the first half, it did get interesting towards the ending of it. The second half on the other hand levels up on each and every single episode to the very last one, it really does grow as a show.

Hey there, sorry for a long-ish text but I tried to keep it short. So here's some points about the show for you.

There's a diverse cast of MC’s who all develop and become more and more interesting as the show progresses.
A good cast of rival characters throughout the show was present (2 major, 2 minor).
Good humor that’s not overplayed.
The show goes at a pretty chill pace and doesn’t feel rushed.
Great soundtracks (there’s a ton of ‘em) that I felt got even better as the show went on.

There are two MC’s in particular who're very interesting together as they portray 2 different sides to competitive running:
Kakeru - Basically the darker side of running as he can be extremely obsessive, a hard-core realist, and plays the lone wolf.
Haiji - The brighter side of running as he’s very caring for the team, wise in safety decisions, and is always optimistic.

If you’ve ever been interested in running or have done cross country or track in school then this’ll be pretty enjoyable, relatable, and potentially inspirational for you as it was for me. If however you’ve never ran a day in your life, then you’ll likely find the MC Prince to be relatable as you humorously watch him start off running hating life. A lot of people love him from what I’m aware and he added quality content to the show.

If you decide to pick this up, I’d say there’re 2 spots early on that you can use to determine whether or not to drop.
The 1st is at the end of ep.4. This is an okay place where if you have no interest in the show, then go right ahead and drop it. Tho if you’re still not totally sure but are willing to watch a bit more then get thru ep.7. This is when you get to see what the show is more truly about and is a good representation for what is to come. If after watching this, you don’t care for the show, then don’t waste anymore of your time, this isn’t for you.

Now even tho I personally loved this, it isn’t perfect. But it was still consistently interesting/enjoyable. So I give it a solid 8.5/10. For any specific questions that my sub-par text didn’t cover, feel free to post a reply or pm.

Alright, thanks for the replies guys.
I picked it up and am already at episode 6!

@Sabrael
Yeah, prince is my spirit animal!

The animation of this show is superb.

The only negative side of it that rubs me the wrong way so far are all those subtle "erotic" poses the cast make.
For example, when prince lies on the ground, he arches his back and lets his booty pop out.
What the fuck is up with that?

I searched a bit and learnt that the author/mangaka is into YAOI... so yeah...
I must somehow overlook the gay over- & undertones and focus on the plot/story.
I managed to do that with Banana Fish so Ill do it here as well xD

Other than that, everything is great so far.

Edit: While watching ep 7, at around 15:40, this happens...

WTF is up with that?
Why is his ass so plump?
Why focus it from bottom to up?
>.>

Puke came up my mouth : ')

They should stop putting so much detail on the booty, they should have drawn the shorts just plainly, not outlining his ass creases like that. I dont want to see that and I dont want the camera-focus to lead my eyes there. Stop raping my eyes. Thanks.
Not sure how long I can put up with that =/

Hey there my dude, not entirely sure if you legitimately wanted a reply or were just pointing things out about the show, but either way, I have answers!

“…when prince lies on the ground, he arches his back and lets his booty pop out. What the fuck is up with that?” That’s not erotic in the slightest, judging by all the early episodes I see him exhausted from running he’s lying flat face down or up. Concerning what you’re talking about tho, there’s a natural curvature to the lower back between the pelvis and rib cage so anyone lying face down is going to have their butt perking up a bit due to the muscles and fat present there along with the curved spine. I would instead find it odd and unnatural if they had his body flat as a board.

However you are right when saying there are gay undertones present in the anime but they aren’t anywhere as prevalent as with “Prince of Stride” another running show which I loved. That show had 2 of the MC’s strongly hinted to being gay even tho when in the source material, they were certainly straight. So if that’s something of concern for you, then don’t worry, none of the characters in the show are actually gay. The small added things here ‘n there are an attempt to capture more female audience members and that’s really it I feel. For me tho, I love the main aspects to these two shows too much for me to really care about gay characters or subtleties as long as the creators aren’t trying to force their view points on me thru straight shaming.

“WTF is up with that? Why is his ass so plump? Why focus it from bottom to up?” lol, his butt is plump cas he’s an elite runner with a larger body type, he’s anatomically and physiologically perfectly fine. The focus was panning up starting at his feet and moving up to his head, and as he’s running, it’s completely appropriate as it’s trying to portray a superior runner in perfect form thru the eyes of the MC as he’s being overtaken. The “V” shape between this waist and lower butt is indeed un-necessary to have however so I agree that the shorts could be drawn more normally. They could have focused less on this detail and put that $ into something else but like I mentioned before, I’m sure they’re trying to capture more female audience members, so I understand them adding the detail for that excuse, but I would also prefer it to just not be present at all as it’s un-needed for the show in general.

I hope I explained things decently enough.
