A few days ago I watched the movie Finding Mr. Destiny and it was AMAZING. Probably one of the best korean movie I've watched.

Gong yoo was adorable/hot and i loved the set up and filming of the movie in general. Really well done.

Almost forgot: I also finished the Jdrama "Sleeping Forest".

Reason I wanted to watch it: KimuTaku
Reason I kept watching it: KimuTaku
Reason I think it was a waste: KimuTaku

Man, it was SO BAD! It was even worse than "Koori no Sekai" (another old drama), and here I thought you couldn't get any lower on my list!

It was a huge waste of time. I kept watching in hopes that it SOMEHOW improved, since it seemed a LIE that KimuTaku would be cast in such a piece of CRAP. -- In the end it was even worse, incredibly.

A long and boring drama... the amount of plot could be reduced to a single episode. They spent a long time on the boring stuff and didn't even develop the few things that might make it more exciting. FAIL!

I watched it for Nakayama Miho, but I enjoyed it. My kind of drama. Except for that SHIT ending. That has to be the stupidest, randomest ending I have ever seen in a drama. =/

i just finished midas. it was really, really, really good. if anyone is interested in a roller coaster ride with lots of twists and turns in a business setting, i highly recommend that series. the ending felt a little messy, but it tied up all the loose ends so i'm not exactly complaining.

49 Days was seriously good. I didn't want to stop watching it! It was so interesting and had a lot of surprises. This drama is defiantly a must watch!
And Lie to Me was good too. It was really cute~^^ I defiantly recommend them both.

Recently I've watched quite a bit. Here's the roundup!

Dramas:
Tenshi no Wakemae: Mizuki Alisa is so adorable and I loved the food porn. Lately I've enjoyed these shorter dramas because they're like a hit of drama fun without the 3-month commitment. Really glad this was finally subbed.
JIN Season 2: In the first half I felt this drama was sort of spinning its wheels. They tried to replicate some of the awesome of season 1 but in the end JIN's stories of innovations weren't as interesting as his relationship with Ryoma. The second half or so was much more compelling storytelling. The ending was just what I expected to be. It wasn't exactly sad, but it was far from the truly happy ending that could never happen. It saddens that this was the "final" series. Movie sequel? One can only hope!
BOSS Season 2: Started out a bit episodic and a little over the top? The crossovers with Shiawase ni Narou yo were amusing though. As with the previous series, the cast was delightful and the mysteries were pretty good.
Marumo no Okite: Fluff, but good fluff. Ashida Mana is the cutest little girl I've ever seen and Abe Sadao brings in a huge amount of energy. But this series was a little heavy handed in the moral department. That was balanced by the adorable talking dog, however!
Shiawase ni Narou yo: Meh. I expected better but by the end I wasn't rooting for the Shingo/Meisa couple. It was an alright series, but way too predictable and maybe not up the network/timeslot's usual standard, which has dropped the last few years.

Films:
Marutai no Onna 2: A bit dull at times, but I wasn't a fan of the first one either. Miyamoto Nobuko played her character well.
Trick The Movie 3: Psychic Battle Royale: TRICK! Abe Hiroshi and Nakame Yukie were in fine form and the ending was absolutely wonderful. Great flick.
Railways: A slice-of-life watched without subtitles! Surprisingly easy to follow and also a very well made movie. I loved the story of the main character and the beauty of the railway.
Ghost: Yes, it's that remake. Pro: Cute couple. Con: No Whoopi! Worth watching? Well, if you watched The Lake House and Il Mare, then it stands to reason you'd watch both versions of Ghost. It depends on how much sappy romance you can take.
Soup Opera: Another slice-of-life sans subs. Surreal but interesting. It was very much about a young woman learning how to live, and to live on her own. But it was sad to see her makeshift family slowly fall apart.
Sawako Decides: Mitshushima Hikari can currently be seen in Soredemo, Ikite Yuku and she's a fine actress, but I don't like her performance here. Maybe the character as just too weird? The script kind of failed. But it was an okay movie.
Mother Water: Last of the subless slice-of-life. I couldn't really fall into this movie completely without subs to understand it, but it was good in retrospect. Lots of familiar faces; reminded me of an Ogigami Naoko movie with respect to the cast. I also grew attached to the young tofu-ya by the end. The title is an interesting play on the film; the plots revolve around several woman and how their relationships evolve. The movie seemed to be about the flow of community and how we, humans, gather around bodies of water for more than just the need for water, but also because of our need for one another. It was also about how it takes a village to raise a child.
Legend of the Fist: The Return of Chen Zhen: Donnie Yen! I am now a fan. This was a fun popcorn flick and Donnie Yen just kicked butt. Not a great actor but a superb martial artist.

Ah summer. How good you are for watching dramas. XD

Just finished:

City Hunter -- I give it top rating, 5 stars! It was so awesome! It's been a long time since a drama made me so excited/interested. The story was compelling, the directing and editing was top-notch, the acting was very good, the OST was beautiful and unforgettable. There's pretty much not a single fault in this drama. Hooray!

Can You Hear My Heart -- This is the LONGEST drama I've ever watched. 30 episodes! It took me 2 or 3 months to finish it and I sorta fast-forwarded episodes 18 to 28 (but that's because I'm impatient). But I really really really liked this drama! The main couple was very sweet, hugged and kissed all the time and they were sane (unlike most kdrama characters). This drama could be described as: extremely sweet, moving, joyful and tearful family drama.

I recommend both dramas!

Yesterday I watched a Jmovie called "Runway Beat".

My feelings about it are very mixed. It had SO MUCH POTENTIAL and so many good elements... but it ultimately FAILED.

I'm not sure what its biggest fault is. The acting? The lack of real emotion? The lack of continuity? What bothered me the most is how at one point all the characters get a lobotomy... suddenly their personalities are completely different, and the reason they give us is completely pathetic.

Tonight I finished Zenkai Girl and man the last episode was a MESS! Aragaki Yui was superb, but Nishikido Ryo's character was so wishy washy and they didn't spend NEARLY enough time forming their relationship. Not to mention the lame love triangle. Isn't the other party (Shindo-sensei) supposed to actually TRY to get the girl?

Way to reel me in than step all over me, Zenkai Girl. WAY TO GO.

The other day I finished off Bull Doctor as well. Just a poorly written series with average performances. Normally I love Esumi Makiko and even more so Ishihara Satomi (so cute!) and her range in acting. But Ishihara was so all over the place it was hard for me to like her character at all, and Esumi was meh. The whole drama felt like a commercial for getting one's family member autopsied (which I know is an issue in Japan). the writers should've spent more time developing the conflict and mysteries instead of looking at Esumi's character's family. Also Goro? ICK. I've never liked him and his cold performances.

I was so excited for some of the summer dramas. So far the best has been Don Quixote, but let's see how they pull off the ending.

One Million Stars Falling From the Sky. Great acting and a story chock full of twists and secrets just waiting to be uncovered but there wasn't nearly enough unpredictability to keep me from falling asleep during some scenes. Plus, I hated the ending.

Aishiteru SP. I was surprised when I saw this was coming out so long after the series, but I'm glad it did. There was the same strong acting and writing. Felt like a natural continuation. I can't believe they found a way to show the characters 20 years in the future without cheapening any of what happened before. It actually added to the original story. Loved the style of directing with all the flashbacks and everything. Just awesome all around.

Oh really? That's a shame. Reading the synopsis, it seems like kind of a unique role for Eita. He surely looks different at least, lol. I'll probably put that at the bottom of my list.

The rest of the performances are top notch and the plot is amazing. It's still worth a watch, but I'm just warning you. It's like Eita is resisting falling into the character. You know? It's a tricky, emotional role, and I feel this hesitation from him during the high-tension scenes, especially at the start. Though I think he managed to pull it off for the first time in episode 8.

I finished Hello my teacher a week or so ago. It was really fun... but i do love gong yoo so much :) He played a really believable high schooler and it was really cute how in love with the lead he was. I just wish it didn't get so draggy towards the end..but most kdramas do.

Finished City Hunter a few days ago. I hesitated on watching it, but couldn't resist after reading all the buzz. After the first episode, I no longer thought of it as an adaptation, and it isn't really.. From what I've seen of the anime, the similarities stop at the title.

Anyway, lots of action.. pretty fantastic all-round. Just a few minor complaints keep it out of my favorites.

THANK YOU for reminding me about Room of King, I really wanted to watch the last 3 episodes. I found them yesterday so now I can finally change it to "complete" in my drama list. ^^ Like you said, it's a really good series.

I also watched two movies yesterday, Pikanchi Life Is Hard Dakedo Happy and the sequel Pikanchi Life Is Hard Dakara Happy. Since I'm an Arashi fan those two are a must see. The second one is (in my opinion) a lot better than the first, even though they're both a lot of fun with crazy characters and random silliness.

Ikemen Desu Ne, and I'm not going to agree that it's trash. I actually loved it more than YB. Just showing that people have different tastes.

Also recently finished Detective Conan: A challenge to Kudo Shinichi. It was rather good compared to the first drama starred by Oguri Shun. That means Junpei is better in acting it out? Or is it that Ran just got cuter?

Ouran High= A big big MEH. What a disappointment! All of them are like horrible actors, well... except for Tamaki. He's great and he's funny like the real Tono~

As for Arakawa, it's kind of weird but it made me lol'd in some instances. Oguri Shun= Kappa!

Jiu=I finished it but not really into it.

49 Days= Cried so much but not as much as what happened in Secret Garden. :)

Tonight I finally finished Fermentation Family. Though the longest Korean drama I've watched (I think), it was the most interesting! It combined gangster-style action, business intrigue, romance, family, and food into one big bundle of a drama. Kind of like the bundle kimchi they make at the end, now that I think about it. There were fun moments, sad moments, happy moments, and it came to a wonderful end. I think this is the first kdrama (of twenty total) that I wish didn't end!
