Of all the relationships in the series this one is the most complex. I think it's obvious it's sexual and extremely evident, but what is the extent to which Shinji and Asuka acknowledge it? I found the end of EoE to be that they both acknowledged it and could finally be happy, after both of them trying to disconnect themselves (comatose scene, scene in the apartment) RE: "I think they both love each other, but they don't have enough common sense to put theirselves out there. (Why's it called common sense when 90% of people don't have it?)" |
