| Ralen sat down in the forest and sighed. Once again, not a single arrow had missed its mark. "Sixty arrows, 63.32 seconds, still not fast enough," he thought sadly. He was nowhere near being as good as his teacher. As he stared at the old wooden bow, his memories came pushing back to the surface. **************** "Wake up, Xiao Huo!" Ralen sat up in his bed slowly. "What is it?" he asked drowsily. "Do you know what time it is? It's already 9:40! Get up now, sleepyhead!" Ralen sat up with a jolt and thew his clothes on. He ran down the stairs to meet his teacher. "Good morning, Laoshi!" His teacher smiled at him cheerfully, joy radiating off her pretty young face. "Hurry up and eat, I'm going shopping. I'll be back in an hour!" Ralen nodded happily and grabbed the bun before heading out to the secret training room underground. On his way, he reached out for the handmade bow and the arrow case. His hand wrapping around the wood, he climbed down the ladder before jumping to the ground. The seven-year-old began his training. Ralen put down his bow and wiped his forehead. Sixty arrows, 84.27 seconds. He smiled to himself and went to tell his teacher about his improvement. As he opened the small door, his teacher's body fell to the ground. Many evil-looking men were standing there angrily. His teacher looked up and her eyes opened in shock as she noticed her young student standing there, petrified. Ralen's eyes drifted from the men to the teacher, back to the men then to his teacher again. "W-What's going on?" he asked in a small voice. The men grinned and began to close in. "Xiao Huo, take my bow and leave, right now." Ralen looked to the side and noticed to ornate wooden bow. "Huh?" he said dumbly. "Run away, go out into the world and join a family! Become one with the Mafia, let your family guide you,let yourself guide them! It is not your time to die yet, so live and leave the dying behind! I am already mortally wounded, I couldn't be saved no matter how good the doctors are. Escape, live on and succeed me as the 'Silence Arrow'! Ralen shook in fear but nodded and picked up the bow, and ran, tears streaming down his cheeks. He ran all the way to Italy, making few stops along the way. He new already about the Mafia in Italy. He knew that his teacher had been one of them and had been the sole survivor of her family. He knew that he would follow his teacher's wishes and be the next lengendary 'Silence Arrow'! 11-year-old Ralen stood silently at the doors of the Kurashigo Headquarters. He took a deep breath and knocked on the door. **************** Ralen stood sadly and walked back to the large Kurashigo mansion. He wanted to fight as well, but the boss thought he was too young. He wanted to fight, to help the Kurashigo family. He wanted to fight, to prove to them that he wasn't weak. He wanted to fight, so that the whole world would know the 'Silence Arrow'. |
