What kind of mental gymnastics did you have to go through to somehow make the connection that this confirms it for 2022 in particular?

Kyoto Animation before the attack usually made One TV Series each year. we already have 2 Movies by them confirmed and there are only 2 other shows which they can make this or 20th Century Electric Catalogue and that tweet basically more or less confirms it. Tho it might come out in Fall 2022 or early next year.

And this Tweet mentions that where? I'm not denying the likelihood of it coming out this year, because it is at least possible, but the Tweet in question doesn't actually confirm anything.

If you know about KyoAni's production history, then it's possible to see why it's likely, but do you think anybody who doesn't know any better on that topic would see that Tweet and take it as a confirmation? Obviously not. It's not a confirmation, it's just a potential clue.
