Have you ever had a feeling that someone might get assassinated in Japan over the creation of this show?
| I certainly felt at least, a certain degree of anxiety throughout the airing of this show. The references outside of the Oedipal journey may not be sufficiently developed as much as I would have preferred, but considering the sometimes erratic and very life-threatening situations that people may end up in if they even mentioned or dared to question certain concepts and topics, do you think that if the creators did go MAX THROTTLE and really dig down deeper on things and throw the away the stock police procedural set-up of the plot, could things really have gotten ugly drenched in blood? Could someone have died? And is it because of that very possibility that they might have ended up chickening out on going the whole way with certain ideas and concepts? It's scary once you start thinking about it. Maybe it's just me, but it kind of made me wonder if I should go MAX THROTTLE on these kinds of dicey things as well. Would you take the risk? I'd like to know what everybody thinks about this, be it life-preservation first or diving headlong into criticism first and threat of assassination be damned. |

| Huh, guess you could say that. Guess anime's still in its 'Goldilocks Zone' then. Though that certainly didn't help Anno guy there gettin them death threats. Then again, despite them threats, no one really went up to him in broad daylight and shanked him right in front of the train station now did they? Well, at the very least nobody had to go through cremation so I guess that's great. |
