Should I read the manga before watching this?

I'm asking this because I finished the 1st season yesterday and enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. Soon after I watched the OVAs (on the 4th or 5th) that girl named Momo suddenly showed up and I never saw her before. So I figured the last 3 of the 6 OVAs was for the 2nd season. So I stopped the OVAs and continued to the 2nd season but she and 2 other new characters are just sort of there on the 1st episode with no introduction. So should I read the manga to understand how she got to Rito's house or does it get shown eventually in the anime?
