| you really put some thought into this, and made me think deeper into this as well! it was a very impressive read! when i first noticed that each "alternate universe" had a different color, i assumed that it was really just to distinguish that each world was different and that was it. however, reading what you had to say, changed my mind. unfortunately i've never read "the masque of the red death", but i understand what you're getting at and i think you might definitely be on to something! i especially like what you said about episode 2 and how each movie has represented what watashi does in the other universes and that the final movie hasn't happened yet. ps. i think episode 5 is more of a yellow color... |
| While I think it's really cool that you wrote that and screencapped the different colour rooms, I don't think that you can judge the symbolism of the colours based on what they represent in other cultures. What purple represented a long time ago in different countries might not be what it represents in present-day Japan. |
| That's pretty interesting. I'll keep an eye out for the colours when I rewatch this. I noticed they didn't use red or black (Oz and Akashi's threads) in any of those rooms. Not necessarily intentional, but it makes sense. |
